You may know Dr. Lisa Masterson from The Doctors TV show, and now she is coming to DVD with a fun and effective yoga-based workout DVD with her trainer, Elise Joan. This DVD is packed with three separate yoga workouts that are great for both beginner and intermediate exercisers. Both Dr. Lisa and Elise do an excellent job of providing a fun and entertaining way to work out!

What We Say:
This DVD is entirely yoga-based and will give you a full-body workout that is fun and effective! There are three different workouts included on the DVD that are each only 20 minutes long, and they can be done individually or all at once. If you are short on time, you can still get a good workout in with just one of the 20 minute sessions.
Dr. Lisa Masterson and Elise Joan are a great combination of instructors for a workout DVD. They both try to make the workout fun while adding helpful commentary about the benefits of the various exercises. They are also great about giving safety precautions and encourage you to go at your own pace.

Here is a breakdown of the three different workouts on the DVD:

Cardio
The cardio section combines yoga, strength training and fun and funky hip hop dance steps. Elise and Dr. Lisa keep the steps simple enough so that just about anyone can do them. For someone that isn’t all that coordinated when it comes to choreographed dance moves, I found the hip hop dance portion a little difficult at first. However, I did get the hang of it after a while and really enjoyed it! This section of the workout is particularly fun, and the 20 minutes go by quickly.

Strength
The strength section incorporates a lot of ballet-inspired exercises, along with yoga poses. This workout doesn't require any equipment (other than a chair for balance, if needed), so you can do it just about anywhere. I think it would be great for any level of exerciser, and you can still continue to get a great workout as you progress by working up to the more advanced modifications.

Power Stretch
The stretching section is a nice blend of stretching, yoga poses and even some Pilates exercises to help promote balance, flexibility and strength. This is probably my favorite section of the DVD. I really liked the fact that they offer modifications for some of the exercises.  This section also includes hip-opening exercises, which are great for people who sit at a desk for most of the day.

Bottom Line
This DVD would be a great addition to your weekly workouts. The exercises are low-impact and are so much fun that you almost forget you're working out! Whether you choose to do one, two, or all three segments each time, this is a very effective workout overall. If you are looking for a fun way to mix up your workout routine, this DVD might be for you!
