Get Fit before You Feast: A November Challenge!

Halloween is just around the corner, and we all know what that means—the holiday season will be upon us before we know it. Unfortunately, the "most wonderful time of the year" also tends to be the most stressful time of the year for a lot of people; especially for those who are striving to lose weight or get fit. How do you avoid falling off the wagon during such a busy time full of food, friends and family obligations? 

We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Consistency is the key to success. Sure, you might have to compromise your diet plan and exercise routine a bit during the holidays, but that doesn't mean you have to careen off a cliff into a two-month pie binge. If you put in just a little effort, your journey to a healthier lifestyle isn't doomed! Chances are, you won't be sitting down to a 4,500-calorie feast every day in November, and you can probably still find time to fit inat least a few minutes of exercise every day. It's all about keeping your priorities front and center--and we're here to help you do just that with a month-long consistency challenge. Kick off the holiday season the healthy way by completing at least 10 minutes of exercise each day from November 1st to November 26th (the day before Thanksgiving). For bonus points, try to squeeze in 10 minutes on Thanksgiving Day, too!

The best part? We'll be there to support you along the way. Each day of the challenge, you can post to FacebookTwitter, or Pinterest by using the hashtag #Fit2Feast to stay accountable and let us know how you're doing. Then, we'll serve up tips and encouragement to keep you headed in the right direction! We will also be posting daily on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+ to check in with your progress using the same #Fit2Feast hashtag.

If you don't use social media, start a SparkStreak and update your SparkPage status or blog every day to keep yourself accountable! 

Remember that Thanksgiving Day is just one day. By keeping up a fitness streak for the month of November, you're making a conscious commitment to stick to your goals that will hopefully give you the momentum you need to make good choices on the big day—and then continue working toward your goals through the rest of the holiday season. I love this challenge. The first day of November I started with 30 intense minutes of step aerobics and then followed by an unplanned 2 mile walk when my car wouldn't start. Report
