When we released the new, FREE version of our Nutrition Tracker app earlier this year, we asked for feedback about what would help YOU get more out of SparkPeople. You gave us some great ideas,  so we took the most popular suggestions and built them into the app.

Starting today, you can update your app and enjoy these new features:

  1. Take the SparkPeople Community with you! We’ve built mobile chat boards right into the app for easy access wherever you are. You can also easily check your SparkPage on the go.
  2. Want to set a small reminder to help you reach your goals? Check out the new (free!) SparkPeople Coaching Center. Here, you can get small reminders, coaching notifications, and great advice from our SparkPeople food, fitness, and motivation experts.
  3. Connect your favorite fitness tracking device with our app! Set up your Fitbit, Jawbone Up, or RunKeeper app to feed your step data into your SparkPeople account from your mobile phone.

These updates are available now for both Android and iPhone users. If you’re new to our Calorie Counter and Weight Loss app, you can download it at Google Play, the Apple App Store, or the Amazon App Store. Give it a try and tell us what you think! Thanks and SparkCheers!

How do I get the mobile chat on my tablet or is it even possible? I am not tech savvy. I have it on my phone, however, the phone is burning up my battery and causing my phone to overheat? I love the chat feature and if any new messages come up, I do get notified on my tablet. Thank you - 9/17/2014   10:18:39 AM

The updated app is eating battery life like CRAZY! Before the update, it used minimal battery. Now the SparkPeople app is using 42% of my battery. Is this due to the mobile chat? - 9/10/2014   7:31:25 PM

Not everyone uses an Android or an Apple phone. Some of us use the windows phone (a really great phone!) and would appreciate it if you would create these apps to be used on the windows phone and stop discriminating against windows phone users. - 9/6/2014   2:23:02 PM

I have the original app on my first version Kindle Fire. When I clicked on the link for the new app, it came us as not compatible for my Kindle. I wonder if this will always be the case, or if I need to think of a new tablet. - 9/3/2014   7:39:12 PM

Not sure if it's because I originally had the paid version of this app, but Google Play store has no update available for me ? - 9/3/2014   2:02:36 PM
I am excited to get into the new changes and learn the new app. I like what I see so far. I can't find the section for spinning for team point though. Am I missing it? I use that a lot. - 9/3/2014   10:42:34 AM

The new app allows for Fitbit, Jawbone Up, or RunKeeper app to feed your step data into your SparkPeople account from your mobile phone.... but it doesn't allow the Spark Tracker??? Really?? Why would they not allow their own product to sync with their own app? Am I missing something??? Any help would be awesome! - 9/2/2014   7:23:46 PM

For me there is really not much of a difference but I am sure many other members will appreciate the update. I guess I am just out of tune with the rest of the community because my oft-requested updates are still ignored...ability to manually enter miles in the fitness tracker and have that tracked, ability to view the app in landscape.

It's great that I can sync RunKeeper now but I don't put in all my miles using an app. So I have to remember times and distances until I can get to a computer and access the main site. It would be really great if the mobile fitness tracker had the mileage tab too. - 9/2/2014   2:15:28 AM

My SparkPoints on the Leaderboard are wrong--very low. Also, I did not get the 1 SparkPoint for reading the Coach hint for the day. - 9/1/2014   11:53:44 PM
