See More: summer, sunscreen, skin care,
Summer is near, which means many of you will be wearing shorts, tank tops, bathing suits, and other clothing that exposes more skin. Some of you may already be doing this as many areas in the U.S. are already experiencing very warm weather. Exposing more skin, especially in the sun, can be really hard on your skin and create some issues that you may not think of at the time of exposure.

Many people are already aware that the risks of sunburn and skin cancer are increased the more our skin is exposed to the sun, but those are not the only skin concerns during summer. Some people may experience things such as dry skin, body acne, rashes, poison ivy, bug bites, etc. Below are some resources to help you combat these typical summertime skin care issues and have super summer skin!

It is so important to wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun during the sun's highest peak. I have done this forever and people tell me I look way younger than my actual age. I have friends who have a lot more wrinkles than I do and they are 10 years younger than me. I use a wonderful skin care line that I think also makes a world of difference, it's so important to take care of the inside & the outside of your body! - 6/2/2012   10:24:06 AM

I have dry skin, from the pool, and I do love the sun..so slather on lots of sun screen, and moisturize, moisturize. I wear a big hat, sun glasses. I also try to cover up, and seek shade. - 6/1/2012   3:23:00 PM

A few summers ago I bought a visor, now I am never in the summer sun without it. I can still do my hair (or not) and my hair doesn't get squashed like in a hat.

I also add some different skincare to my routine. I swear by DermaDoctor's Photo Dynamic therapy. It is sunscreen and anti aging serum in one. I put it on underneath my moisturizer before I go out. It doesn't make my skin purple and if I want to reapply throughout the day, it doesn't feel greasy, oily or thick! On days I wear foundation, it does not make the makeup ball up. Love it!!! - 6/1/2012   5:05:22 AM

I like to use chlorine resistant shirts & hats while in the pool. I love the ones that Coolibar sells. They are functional & look good! - 5/31/2012   10:00:03 PM
