Don't know when your tax date is. In Canada it is Apr 30th.
I need to lose at least 15 lbs by then.

I'm not offended, I just... uhmm

Ok this is what I really think...
See, I'm guessing you're American... people are different there, I don't think you can really compare... I mean.. uhmm...
most American kids and teenagers (physically) develop faster...

My point is, a 12yo who is 5'1 and weighs 90lb is like the... most normal thing ever (here), he wouldn't have trouble finding clothes... but as I said, I'm talking about what I know.. what I can see; at that age I was almost the same height -maybe 3cm shorter- and I weighed 38kg (83lb) and yes I was skinny but not THAT skinny... I mean, I was healthy and didn't have trouble finding clothes...

I had an eating disorder when I was 15-16yo.. well, it really started when I was 14, at that age I gained weight really fast and I was at the same weight I'm now (around 110lb) so... long story short, I started dieting and stuff... when I turned 15 I weighed 95lb and I was REALLY happy and comfortable with my body.. but then it got out of control I started starving myself and I lost more and more weight... I wanted to weigh 35kg (77lb) but the lowest I got wast around 85lb...

Anyway, I was anorexic... after the recovery I gained tons of weight and that's why I'm here. I've lost about... 25lb so far but I'm still not happy about my weight...
I'm no longer starving myself... I just want to get back to 98lb in a healthy way...
I turned 20yo this month, but thanks to my... "anorexic phase" and some.. testosterone issues... I have even less muscle mass than when I was 14-15yo, so I don't think I'm crazy for wanting to weigh 98lb...

So yup that's it, I'm not really asking you to support me.... but I won't change my mind either; so yeah if you want I can leave this challenge.. no big deal.

Danny-please, please don't be offended and I'm not trying to stop you or crush your dreams. Muscles won't bulge or look bulky, they simply help you burn more calories which is helpful in keeping the weight OFF so you won't get on the yo-yo diet thing....I understand that you really want to be skinny. I get it, I'm simply offering you some ways to get there faster and healthier than simply dropping your body weight to under 100 pounds.

I don't know when you last weighed under 100 pounds but currently my 12 yo is considered SKINNY, SKINNY, SKINNY and he's 5 foot 1 at 90 pounds. He wishes everyday he'd gain some weight, if for no other reason than to hold his elastic-waist youth(cranked all the way in) 16 SLIM skinny jeans UP...I have two other sons who are 6'2 and 6'4". The shorter of the two is slightly bulkier and the tallest is rail thin(he eats constantly) and shopping for a clothes is a nightmare for him, everything hangs and is baggy! All my boys have "cheeks"that make people want to pinch them, they always have.

***YOU mentioned the CHIPMUNCK CHEEK thing on your Spark Page, I simply brought to your attention that if you were hoping to have "to die for cheekbones" that you might need to wait a few years, it's youth and genetics!!! Good luck in your quest.

emoticon But I don't like muscles... I do some ST only to prevent muscle loss but I don't really want to build muscle mass...
uhmm...
:( uhmm.... 98 lb isn't that low... really, I was at that weight before and I looked "normal".. not even that skinny...

@MEOWZY-A BMI of 18.5 starts to be at the really low end of normal, been there, done that.

While I was bodybuiling I got down to 12% body fat but my BMI was REALLY HIGH since muscle outweighs fat but I was a smaller size, think 3-4 sizes smaller than when I sported a BMI of 17 with no strength training. Exchanging fat for muscle will give you a longer, leaner look than simply shedding the fat and I would encourage you in your quest to try some strength training along with your cardio excercise. I think you will be happily surprised by the results. I'm not critizing your number, just giving you some options? emoticon

@Blueskies: thank you :)

@Sknymom: well uhmm... I'm 5'1, at 98lb my BMI would be 18.5
I've checked in many sites, 18.5 is still a healthy BMI...
and yeah I hate my cheeks but they are not my only concern, I don't want to lose weight just to get rid of my chipmunk cheeks...
I'm at a healthy BMI right now but that doesn't mean anything to me, mainly because I have no muscle mass so... it's all fat :-/... really...
ugh... I know I'm not fat, but I'm chubby and I hate it... I really don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to weigh less than 100 lb... emoticon

@ Meowzy A Healthy BMI for 98 pounds assumes you are 4 feet ten inches or shorter?

You comment on your chipmunk cheeks on your Spark page, you are young and here's the rub. The fat pockets in your face when you are young naturally dissolve as you age ergo the sags and wrinkles. I too was chipmumk cheeks when I was perfect weight at 20. Twenty pounds heavier and 15 years later I finally had really amazing cheekbones and sadly some crow's feet to go with them!
Everyone's face is different, yours is lovely and young. I think everyone here wants to see you achieve your weightloss or fitness goals. Just don't hope to radically change your face at this age by dropping under 100 pounds if you are any taller than 4 ft10in. It will wreak havoc on your body and set you up for weightloss struggles as you age. Having had a few friends who struggled with anorexia it's always a concern when I see a weight that low so no offense meant.

My life as a Mom: up at 5am, made lunches, got boy who wiggles like a worm all bundled up for the snow storm, working 8.5 hours, weight trained for 30mins, got kid from daycare, shoveled 2 blocks of snow (40mins cardio)....walk in the house to fire going and both boys bundled up on couch...look up at me and say "What's for dinner?" ~~ no joke

This is why having children in your 40's keeps you young!

Off line for a few days, hubby got a spare TV, DVD player and IPod speakers set up downstairs with my weights and boxing bag! ITS OFFICIALLY A GYM!! My plan is NOT to go upstairs when I get home from work, I'll have my workout clothes all laid out with my water and shoes. Walk straight downstairs and get 40mins in everyday!

We booked out Disneyland tickets for April 14th.....which ties into this challenge......8 weeks to BRING IT and hopefully by the end of April I'll be able to start P90X again.

Today will be spent making a calendar, prepping food for the week and meal planning. I think it's going to be a great 8 weeks!

I was wrong, 98lbs is within a normal BMI for some adults, again ignorance offends others....Sorry, I'm a Mom, didn't mean to offend, just motherly instincts kicking in ~ truly it was said with love, concern and because I care.

Its never to late to join! Welcome all new people! SUPERMELCA all I can say is use your trackers! When just starting out it is the best tool to see where you need to start and what you need to change! Track everything you eat!!! That way you can see if you need to cut back on anything ex. fat, calories, carbs etc. When getting things at the store pay attention to labels. Try to only eat one true serving of what you are eating, yes most of the time that actually means measuring things out :P. Also track your exercise so you can see what your doing. Under reports you can see your calories differential for any specific day or a week. This is a way to see what your deficit is. They say a deficit of 3500 equals a lb of fat. So if you can manage to have over 7 days a deficit adding up to 3500 you should lose a lb for that week!

I found you BLUE!!

MEOWZY ~ 98lbs? I'm not sure that's a healthy weight for anyone.113 seems pretty lean already. You are welcome to share other goals with us, not weight loss and we'll support you in those. I personally, am not sure I can encourage that kind of weight loss for such a tiny person. What does your Doctor say is your goal weight? ~~ I really don't want to scare you off, or offend, but I try to be as honest as possible and under 100lbs for an adult, is awfully scary for me....can you elaborate more of your personal story?
