bike riding with a healthy diet will result in loosing inches. I lost 6 inches off of EACH thigh while I was pregnant. Then I got to the point that whatever I craved I ate. I hated getting up in the middle of the night hungry and then up again at 5 am eating 8 peices of french toast EVERY monring for 6 months. I actually got to the point that I could get up in a complete deep sleep and sleep walk my way through the apartment and fix a box of mac and cheese and eat it and never wake up. I never believed my now husband that I was doing it untill he took a picture of me and then I woke up with it sticking to the side of my face.see ya later. why don't you e-mail me it sounds like we have about the same goals.

A good eating and exercise plan will result in fat loss.

Well, I've been thinkin, I wonder if with this whole nutriten plan and motivational plan I'll loose inches on my thighs and stomach, or if i'll just loose weight. cause ya know, I bike, alot, and walk alot, and I wonder, do you think it'll just build muscles? or will it really trim me down? Anyway, my new goal is to get from 130 to 120 by january 10th... not 2 weeks i know, but if i tried to top what you did I'd end up killing myself, I know it. And oh man have I slacked today... but my "routine" calls for one day of rest so i did my crunches and used me handy dandy ab roller and then slept. lol

Yeah I really know what you mean. When I first got pregnant I could still wear all of my clothes. Then I went to my b/f's clothes. The after that I had to wear maternity clothes even though I didn't even look like I was pregnant. Do you know how embarrising it is to take a shower and when you get out have to have someone else shave your legs put your shoes and socks on and help you put your pants and underware on cause you can't bend over that far? Needless to say I had many cuts on my legs from Craig shaving below my knee :(. It's also horrible when Becka was about 1 1/2 months old and I finally got caught up on all my house work including laundry and Craig went to put a pair of his underware on and they fell back off. LOL I had stretched them out about 4 inches too big.... SHHH I never told you that he'd kill me if he found out I actually told someone. LOL Hey if you wanna e-mail me My e-mail addresses are Blue_eyesj98@yahoo.com and Lil_momma_02@hotmail.com I check both.

Hi DRIGIE - I just emailed you and answered your question about the GoalPilot from another board - just let me know if you have any questions! Chris

I just wish I could find a nice pair of jeans that doesn't cover up my belly button, or go straight down my leg to the point where I can't walk. And I'm not very keen on having to wear a long t shirt or sweatshirt when I sit down. I don't like my butt hanging out when I'm in class, it's embarassing. My thighs are 21" around... not really all too bad... but I still can't wear "normal" jeans! But whatever, I shouldn't dwell on it, too many teens do that already.
BTW, I'd love to get my hands on a pair of like 30" + flares.
And what's with the goal pilot? will someone explain it to me?

". . .because all those designers seem to think we enjoy our butt cracks hanging out. . ."

LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Way back when I was in the 6th grade, before almost everyone who uses this board and/or works for SP was born, WE HAD THE BUTT CRACK THING GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The flare of our pant legs at the bottom was much bigger than you guys have now and we had to step on them so that they got raggedy. We didn't have the tatoo on the low back above the butt crack thing going - - yall win on that one.

I totally know how you feel about the guys jeans. Before I got pregnant I had a 30 inch waist and now I measured it today and it's up to 35. however my butt that I had gotten down to 38 inches and thighs that were 30 inches cause of all the exercising I did while I was pregnant had gotten everything down. But now my thighs are like 42 inches and my butt is almost 50.:( I so want to cry. I will admit that I have majorly slacked off from exercising since I had Rebecka but I keep thinking I'm 18 years old I have a 4 month old daughter and have been married for only 2 weeks tomorrow and my husband looks at me like I'm a blob. I know he doesn't mean to hurt me when he says thing's cause he's just playing with me a teasin me cause I still have a lot of work to do to get all this weight off. But when he says and does some thing's it hurts really bad. I don't want to end up being 20 ans weighting as much as I do now. For my height my ideal weight is 110 to 120 which I could totally do 120. I just have to stop eating the junk and get up and walk and do my sit ups and get back into the thing's I was into when I was pregnant. But since my GYN called me and told me that he thinks that I might be pregnant again cause I took a stupid depo shot and they just found out it's ineffective the third month. So even though I can't remember if we did anything... I'm still freaked out. but hey you can e-mail me if you want.... I can give you some tips of thing's that have worked for me while I was pregnant.

Lil_momma_02@hotmail.com or Blue_eyesj98@yahoo.com

See ya! Kira

I have that same problem blue eyes, all my weight is in my butt and thighs which inevitably meant i had to go shopping for new pants. but because of how HUGE my thighs are i couldn't fit into those trendy flared jeans, one because the pants wouldn't go past my thighs and two because all those designers seem to think we enjoy our butt cracks hanging out, which i don't, so you see i could't wear them. but anywho, i had to buy a mens pair of carpenter jeans because us girls can't wear baggy pants, so the gap doesnt' sell any baggy jeans for us. but whatever. i read you used ankle weights? wow, i was thinking about gettin some of them again, i had some a long time ago when i'd ride my bike all around the place. but i wasn't sure if they'd actually do anything for me. but if they worked for you i might as well give em a try. my father purchased a exercise bike, a fancy one with weights and all, but it looks so comfotable, it seems like it's not meant to exercise on, but my father did buy it so that is why it's comfy i suppose. i just hope it does the trick because having to wear guys jeans at 18 years old kinda lowers my self esteem.

Sorry for everyone who was talking to me I've kinda forgot that there was more than just Sparkpeople CAfe. So you want to know how I lost the weight. I stopped eating all the junk food I could and started drinking like 3 times as much water. I read in a magazine that if you stop drinking pop that you can loose 1 pound for every pop you stop drinking and every 12 ozs of water you replace that with. So not wanting to keep my daughter up all night while I was nursing or keep myself up while she was sleeping I stopped drinking the pop. I started eating a bowl of soup or a salad with NO dressing for lunch or dinner. Most of the time I ate a salad for lunch and soup for dinner. And make sure that you get plenty of exercise. The second day I was home with Becka I took her on a 3 mile walk. The next week I was back up to walking 3 miles and running 1 then walking another. Which if you think about it running a mile is not very far. I also use Becka. I know that might sound mean... But she's 4 months old now and weights 12.5 lbs. and she makes a very good weight. So even though I can't do a lot of the thing's I need to with her (using her as a weight I mean) then I'm going to ask my mom for some of her dumbells so that I can work out more. I also had some ankel weights that ended up being too lite so that I need to get more and even just walking around the house with them helped loose my butt and thighs which is where I gain A LOT of my weight. I gain like 98% of my weight in my butt and thighs. I have gotten out of my habbits cause Becka had gotten to the point that she would sleep untill almost 1 so I slept in right a long with her. However once I can find a job and can finace a car and house I plan on getting a treadmill. :)

Hi DRIGIE:

The exercise you do sounds fine. What you might need to do is to look at your eating plan. Unbalanced eating and eating too little can turn your body into a fat storing machine. Eating too much can cause fat gain for obvious reasons. Read up on as much as you can about proper nutrition here, at other places on the Internet, and in books. Figure out how you need to eat to be healthy. Healhty eating and good exercise should bring your body to its ideal weight.

do whatever you think you can. take advantage of thing's around the house.instead of getting someone else to to open the jar try for at least 5 mins first. While you might feel studip dooing it you'll be burning a lot of calories trying. Only take stairs. while this might seem like something so small won't add up it will. each time you take stairs that has at least 16 in it you burn 268 calories. Lift the baby as much as you can. Don't let somone else carry the carseat with the child in it. Yes I know it gets heavy. I can barely lift my 2 month old in hers sometimes. But the more you do the more calories you burn. When you go to the grocerie store don't ask for the bag boy to help you to the car with your thing's do it yourself. pushing that 2 ton cart and lifting everything out of it will build muscles and burn calories. Remember that the more muscle you have yes the more you will weight but also the bigger chance you have of being healthy and burning more calories. and if you eat junk food alot (like I do) then do a longer workout. instead of only taking your son on one walk take him on 3. If you have any friends or realitives that live near by you can take him there on one next one be around the block and the 3rd to his favorite play place that is more than a block away. After doing this for about a month try to add jogging in to it. I walked for 2 weeks then started jogging and am now up to being able to full out run 3 miles. Of course when you are running it's easier to not have the baby but it gives you more to do. while running you are also pushing which is giving you some resistence. If you can buy some ankel weights and strap those on too and then go for your walk/run. Wear them around the house. (not in the shower) Every time you stand up tighten your butt muscles and everytime you sit down tighten you stomach.

wow lots of exercise and you took advantage of every moment....good idea about leg lifts and the ballet thing is something that I've always thought I would like to try . I wonder how that would work for someone just starting and in their thirties say or forties.I've noticed the beautiful posture on the dancers. It always looks so perfect.

I got up every morning and went on a walk with her. As soon as I was allowd to drive again I would go to the grocerie store and get the milk and stuff and even that gallon of milk worked muscles. I was breast feeding but not entirely. She doesn't really like to be held that close to me. And I would lay on the floor on my side and lift my leg up and then take it down till 3 inches off the floor. Plus pacing her room while she was readmitted to the hospital because she had a very sevior case of jaundice helped too. I always take the stairs now to work my butt and thighs. also if you know ballet exercise try doing those. They are meant to slim and streaghthen your body. I did mine everymorning and am still doing them untill I can get some sleep.
My daughter is 2 months and teeting and was up untill 4:30 this morning screaming, then finally went to sleep but only cause I took her to bed with me and she slept in my arms so we wouldn't roll over on her and thengot up at 8 because of a thunderstorm.

Heck you guys can say whatever you want. I'm just glad that I'm 10 pounds UNDER my pre-pregnancy weight. Well anyway. I really gotta set new goals and get something to eat now. After I look at everything else on the board.

You could use Who? hoo down in Whoville if you ever make it there for a Christmas visit.

I'm used to saying "Cool" myself but Ola's Wahoo has become the culture here.

This is funny - seems like there are so many ways to spell "Wahoo!" I'm used to using "Woohoo!". One of my friends tried using "Whohoo" but I said that is just plain wrong because it's too much like "Who? - hoo". But WHO am I to say... :) Chris

Ok Olamac: You've got SparkPeople saying Wahoo now. It's contagious.

You beat me Blue_Eyes. My week after pregnancy loss was only 19 pounds. At that point, I was 12 pounds up from where I started. Too much food during the first four months (trying to fight all day nausea) turned me into a Weeble.

Way to go!!!!........After I had my first daughter, it didnttake me long to lose the extra weight. Do it now, the older you get the harder it is to get it off, and get into shape! I was 21 when I had my first daughter, 23 when I had my second, and now I am 34, wow, how time makes a difference. It seems like it takes so much more effort, and time to lose it now. Good luck, I am sure you will be successful.............caring for a baby alone can keep u hoping!...........

I went from weighting 162 the day I had REbecka to weighting 135 today. Only weeks. I need to loose about 20 more pounds but I think I can do if I now weight less then I did before I got pregnant.
Gotta go burp time.
