emoticon emoticon emoticon WELCOME TO SPARK!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

emoticon emoticon emoticon ANY time is a great time to start...especially with Sparkpeople. Give yourself a big hug for making this positive choice for yourself. Take your time to explore all the resources available for you here. It can seem overwhelming because there are so many resources to choose from. Two to consider using are the Nutrition and Fitness Trackers. Also, check out Spark Teams under the COMMUNITY Tab. Do searches on your goals, interests, hobbies, whatever. Then join one, two or more Spark teams. You'll enjoy getting to know these folks and giving and getting lots of encouragement along the way. It's all good. Enjoy the journey!

Thank you for your offer to help! I'll be happy to help and encourage you, as well. I feel for you with the apnea, narcolepsy issue. We'll both get much needed relief when we reach our goals! We really can do this!

Thank you for the welcome and birthday wishes! I laughed when I read which boards you're on...I could join most of them. I have sleep apnea, but before that I was diagnosed with a different type of sleep issue (spindling) which helped lead to a diagonosis of fibromyalgia. I also have anxiety issues, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, mold allergies, etc. Thanks for the tips on using Spark. It's a little overwhelming all at once!

Love your introduction. I have a CPAP machine also. You have a good out look about wanting to live a full life with your husband. Just remember that it is a journey of one day at a time and we can do this together. I am glad to meet you.

Hi and welcome to Spark. Happy late birthday. This is a great site with a lot of useful tools. My two favorite are the nutrition tracker and the fitnes trackers located under the My Trackers tab at the top of the page. There are also a lot of great teams to join. I am on a few teams for people with diabetes, a couple for people with depression, a few for people that need to lose weight, and one for people with sleep problems. So, you see there is a team for just about everything. You can also start your own team. emoticon

Hey! I turned 50 in June and have 50 to lose. I'm very motivated to lose the weight now since my son is getting married at the end of November, I'm on high cholesterol meds, high blood pressure meds, sleep with a CPAP, and have a husband that lost his weight and has kept it off for the past 10 months. I would like to enjoy our second half of life to the fullest and don't want to carry this weight and the medical problems that have come with it into my my future! There's still way too much to do to be this uncomfortable and unhealthy! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and hearing your stories!
