On searching for "bored with tracking food," I landed in this discussion. It's so good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I've lost 25 pounds and have only 15 more to go, but I seem to have lost my motivation. You've all given me some great ideas for changing things up a little. Hopefully I will get "back on track" with tracking. Thanks to you all!

helpful comments! I actually just braved a kid's birthday party and did not have
any pizza or cake - yeah!

I can identify with bored tracking food. I started looking at the recipes and changing up the food I was eating. eating the same thing is easier. But we have got to learn to eat all foods in moderation or we'll fall back into old eating habits. I lost 120lbs about 8yrs ago and thought "oh now I can go back to normal" well... 2months ago I realize I had put 70lbs back on. I did not want to be 400lbs again so this time I know Maintenance is the hardest part of being healthy! Learning to control my portions and enjoy all the foods I love but in MODERATION! Good luck! emoticon

AVAGRACE25- I used to do the same thing... eat the same boring foods, track the same boring stuff. I'm a married, mother of a 5 yr old (who has Asperger's), full-time college student, so I'm a little pressed for time. So one thing I've found that I seem to be really good at is improvising healthy meals. What keeps it from being boring is how I do it in a sort of mad-scientist way. I check out the pantry & fridge..."Ok, I have some whole wheat couscous, some chicken broth, canned chicken... onions, baby spinach, shredded cheese, and a couple of red peppers". So what to do with it? I mix it up, stuff the peppers, top with cheese, and slap 'er in the oven! What to do with the leftover stuffing? Throw some on an egg-white omelet for breakfast the next morning! As far as tracking my frankenstein-meals, I just guesstimate the portion size of each ingredient per serving, and use the spark tracker for each individual ingredient. This meal, for example, had about 1/8 c. onions, 1/4 c. spinach, 2/3 c. cooked couscous, 1 oz. chicken, 1/4 c. cheese, and 1 red bell pepper. I usually end up with all kinds of tasty, and healthy, stuff, and I don't have to dedicate an entire day to calculating nutrition facts. Hope this helps a little emoticon

Do you mind me asking why your goal weight is so low??
How tall are you? Sounds too personal, so please politely ignore me
if I'm out of line! I just haven't been that weight since I was in like 4th grade or something!
But then again, I'm almost 5'8"!

AVAGRACE25 - I don't know if it will help, but when I get the ho-hums, I decide on a motivating goal. Sometimes it's as easy as getting to the next sparktrophy in x amount of time. Logging food and running the nutrition report help earn the points for that. If that doesn't motivate you, find something else. Maybe a reward (bubble bath, download a new song, movie) for tracking for a week more. Some days I tell myself that I will just track one meal at the end of the day. Once I sit down and start, I usually end up doing it all. A friend of mine is very consistent in what she eats and pretracks for a week at a time.

Hey again..Sry, Jibbie..respectfully disagree (maybe because I've only been on FB for a month!). I do only have a month of "FB Lifestyle". I have NEVER said that I've been on "a diet" whenever I've lost weight because it should be learned to be ingrained. However, the same demons that have sabotaged me before are still there, hiding for the moment. I am truly hoping that all the tools and support on this site will make a difference this time, but unfortunately I am up against a lot..ME!

There really isn't a "month" as this is about a lifestyle so every day is done for THAT day. I've been here nearly five years and I've had so many failures, but I get back up again and work at getting my fat off and being healthy.

Watch the HBO 4 part Documentary on YOUTUBE "The Weight of the Nation". What got me is talking about FATTY LIVER. I don't want one.

Oh the magic month marker has hit and I AM BORED OF TRACKING MY FOOD!
But I do it anyway although the tracking has definitely been a bit cleaner and I find myself eating the same foods over and over again, I am starting to look damn fine and this feels REALLY GOOD! The REAL spark for me will be losing another 5 and MAINTAINING...ah, the magic word! MAINTENENCE BE HARD!!!!!
Just wanted to check in with others besides my "teams". They are wonderful, but need to reach out on broader spectrum for a clever "got you" or some such wonderment.
