I think the biggest things that really helped me were:
1. Actually counting my calories. Don't cheat on this! 2. When you do slip - journal WHY you did. What made you decide to go for an unhealthier choice? If you see that you're making unwise choices frequently it's probably because you started off too hard on yourself to begin with. 3. Don't view this as a dieting stage till you get those 36 pounds. That's super unrealistic - who "diets" for months and months at a time? No, take this as a lifestyle change. Which really, that's what sparkpeople is about!

I am just starting and have 36 pounds to lose. I will be honest (this is not my first go around) I am doing everything different this time though. Eating right, exercise and getting lots of support!
