I have a few friends who have cut out gluten from their diets out of choice, and they dropped weight quickly. I have Celiac Disease, and I have not lost any weight due to cutting out the gluten. That is frustrating! I had a hard time feeling full until I realized that I was not eating a lot of protein. I have recently begun eating at least 100 grams of protein each day, and I feel a LOT more satisfied. I also enjoy eating rice noodles, corn noodles, quinoa and other grains.
I do not personally have Celiac Disease, but I have worked with children who can't process gluten. It seems like there are tons of gluten-free choices on the market from muffin mix to pasta. You can also find many gluten-free cookbooks that can help you eat healthy meals while being gluten-free. My biggest advice is to read labels on all of your packaged foods. Some things have gluten even if you don't expect it. I know this isn't much advice, but I hope it helps! :)
I was finally diagnosed with Celiac Disease which explians why I can't lose the last 20 pounds and I always feel crappy. I was wondering if anyone has been through this and knows the best way to go gluten free.
