The fact that we learn makes it easier to stay healthy too... I am often stunned at the misinformation that many otherwise intelligent people believe about nutrition. Bottom line is that it is science and numbers... and generally fads are frightening!
My biggest hurdle has been in cutting sodium wisely... as long as I dont' use many prepared foods it's easy, but eating out is harder.
When I joined over five years ago, I tracked what I was eating for about five days and found I had 3500 calories and about 1500 were from milk, soda and juice. I cut those out first and went to drinking plain tea, lemon water and kool ade with stevia. BIG savings on calories.
Yes I can see that I have toooo much fat in my chart. Usually not enough protien. It WAS an eye opener!

When I checked the graph showing me what protein, carbs and fats intakes should be. OMG It was almost half fat, half carbs. This is a real motivator to make some serious change in our intake. My hubby is actively following the program as well.
