Absolutely ! I can even get my kid to do this one, I also use Greek yogurt with Dill and Green onion on our sandwiches instead of Mayo :) I buy the big container of Oikos that's fat free and plain!

Yes!! It's an awesome alternative. There's a chart that shows you how to use it -- I found it on someone's blog, it's really helpful. http://cdn.iowagirleats.com/wp-content/upl

Totally works! As long as it's the plain kind, of course, not sweetened with anything else (some "greek" yogurt is also flavored I've noticed in the store). Since I always have plain greek yogurt on hand and never sour cream, it's generally an economical choice for me too!

I always use greek yogurt instead. I don't even notice a difference.

I use it as sour cream all the time....there s very little difference in taste. I have not oughten sour cream for more than 2 years. Even low cal/light sour cream is not healthy, Greek yogurt is!

Like others said, the taste might be a bit different, but try it out! I use greek yogurt as a replacement for sour cream and heavy cream all the time in mashed potatoes, pasta dishes, etc. It's great!

Thanks, everyone! The extra tang is probably something I'll enjoy so not worried about that. I'll post an update when I've tasted it.

Yes, I use greek yogurt instead of sour cream sometimes. It is a bit more tangy, but I like it.

I haven't tried yogurt in place of sour cream. Mostly because I have gotten so used to fat free sour cream now that it works for me.

the taste would be different, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

I'm making chicken enchilada soup tomorrow and was wondering if it would work to use plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream to mix in at serving time?
