This is just my opinion so take it for what its worth...my two cents
If I were going to do something like this I would
cut out all sugar includes sauces, dressings and mixes unless sugar is at least the 5th ingredient, eliminate all flour products & processed foods
Reduce caffeine & soft drinks or eliminate them if possible
Water - 1/2 oz to 1oz per lb of body weight (so if you are 200lbs you would want to drink 100-200oz of water spread out throughout the day)
Sleep 8 hours a night (this is when our bodies repair themselves and growth hormone is released)
So your diet would look something like this
Bfast: 2 eggs, piece of fruit, 1/4 cup of oatmeal
L: 4oz of lean protein, 3oz cooked brown rice, 6oz cook vegetables, 6oz salad, 1 tbsp dressing (not fat-free)
S: 6oz fruit
D: 4oz lean protein, 6oz cook vegetables, 6oz salad, 1 tbsp dressing (not fat-free)
S: if you are hungry - 6 oz of mixed berries
You still need to eat - if you don't consume enough food your body is going to lose weight slower. If you dont feel full add some more salad or veggies to the meals.
Exercise - Cardio which could be walking, zumba, swimming, biking, sprints, HIIT training
Depending on the amount of weight you have to lose 15-20 lbs is probably doable and consider anything else a bonus. However, when you lose a pound you don't just lose fat you also lose muscle. so lets say you lose 15 lbs - you are losing approx 10lbs of fat and 5 lbs of muscle. This is why people who regain weight they have lost previously often are "fatter" then before.
So once memorial day has past I would start adding strength/weight training to rebuild lost muscle mass. Muscle revs up your metabolism so you dont want to neglect this.
