Power cleans or hang cleans might be a good addition. Also, power shrugs.

I do them only because I can use bigger dumbells than I can for other exercises. It is stupid but Its fun to get to go over to the rack with the bigger dumbells on it every once in a while.

When I wanted to bulk up, yeah I use to do all those for the traps. But now I am not about bulk as much as just being solid so I am not using as heavy of weights...

You do all the big trap moves and you still want moar traps! I think you could shoot your protein powder directly into the traps, the perform heavy shrugs. lol!

@GRB: is that what you do for traps? I already do those so that's three trap exercises I do: Shrugs, deadlifts & Military presses. God, I rock!

Sorry, I meant 1rm deadlift. I have to feel around a little from my 1RM. So at the end of my work sets, I'll take the lower end of a calculated 1RM and pull it. If I get it easily, I'll add 5 pounds, wait a couple of minutes, pull again. It's a little brutal, but I lurves it and it can get me past stuckage from time to time.

I'll have to figure that out. On the smith machine I can shrug 8x 240lbs. but at home the most I could shrug was 210 eight times that's 78% of my 1RM so maybe it's around 270?

idk but a great idea!

Try pulling a 1RM once in awhile too.

I wonder if that's why my traps are poppin out? I do deadlifts and shrugs, each once a week. I never thought of that before....SWEET!

Nothing works my traps like heavy ass deadlifts. When I isolated traps, I did not get the gainz I experienced while doing deads. Heavy deads twice a week has been magical.

Once I got my regular routine down I started to think about other body parts that I had never really paid attention to. One day I noticed a dude at a restaurant that had protruding muscles coming from his bank and neck and I immediately thought to myself if my muscles there looked like that, they didn't. I did some research and found out that shoulder shrugs and upright rows were the key to getting them pumped.

I do shrugs every week now and I go as heavy as I can. My traps are starting to pop and age 50 I am totally surprised, lol!
