I did use SB for nearly 6 months but found it too heavy on grains for me--my weight-loss plateaued and I didn't drop another pound for nearly 3 months. So I tweaked it to be a less-grain-based platform and it began to work again.

Thanks for the article.. they seem a bit passionate about the wheat. I do agree that I noticed that after adding a few carbs back in is when I plateau. I also lost track of how much cheese I was eating. I cut both back and am noticing the scale moving back down.

I refer to south beach a lot, I feel they have a good understanding of the food around us and it is a great way to learn some things about nutrition. I do also feel that it is heavy on grains when you get to the end phases but everything needs to be tailored to fit the individual. check out the team, it's a great resource!

I recall reading that Dr. Agatston might have or has re-thought phase 2 and 3 of the South Beach diet. Recall this article on that. I guess in phase 2 some will plateau and begin regaining weight.

I've recently started South Beach diet and am currently on Phase 2. I was experiencing a plateau and decided to start tracking to help myself out. Does anyone else follow SB and do SP? What are some tips you have for success?
