Why do you have to eat yogurt at all? I gave up all dairy years ago. There are other ways to fill up and get protein.

Strangely enough, Greek yogurt has quickly become a staple in our fridge. It is one of our new favorite go to items mostly because we SO don't like all of the calories in salad dressings. We use dry ranch dressing mix, dry Italian dressing mix, our own good blue cheese and turn it into creamy salad dressings that don't break the calorie bank. Two days ago I mixed in some tomato paste from the tube and some B&G Sugar Free Sweet relish and wound up with some totally acceptable Thousand Island! The next adventure ... Going to give caesar a shot!
Another hint ... You can pretty much cover up the "tart" if you will experiment with adding some Splenda, gently.
Stick with your mission! It is well worth the return!!!

I have recently found a couple flavors I can tolerate. Still don't really like it...but, don't want to vomit from the smell.
I used to not really like yogurt, started to eat it for health reasons, and now I look forward to it. I have to say that I wish I had learned to like it earlier, because then I might have avoided encountering certain digestive health issues which perhaps your wife would like you to avoid as well!
I started out eating a high-quality frozen yogurt. It was pretty sweet, although that yogurt taste was still there. I was using it as a substitute for ice cream. Then later I went into the fruit & fructose flavored single serving packages for snacks, which are cheap and often provided by generic or store brands. My husband loves those.
The digestive health benefits of yogurt can be had eating the full-fat fruit or sweet flavors, even the ones with candy mixed in. There are also pro-biotic drinks that claim to have similar benefits. They come in really small bottles and can be swallowed quickly. If you feel like you have given yogurt a really good chance, and you still really hate it, then maybe try to find one of those pro-biotic drinks so you are getting the health benefits your wife wants you to have but without torturing yourself with food you don't like!

I can understand issues with plain yogurt. There are many very tasty options out there with fruit, etc. try different brands too; I have noticed a difference. (if you can, try to stay away from the ones that are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup though)
I wish I liked it but I haven't found one yet. The doctor recommended for digestive tract.

I really hate yogurt, but have fallen deeply in love with Oikos Key Lime Pie Greek Yogurt (as in I eat two of them a day....). I run a few graham crackers through the food processor and sprinkle them over the top as I go and it REALLY DOES taste just like key lime pie but none of the guilt and all of the protein!
I should note that I tried a LOT of yogurt I didn't like before I found one I did. Don't give up on it.

I make a yogurt, orange juice, protein powder and wheat germ smoothie every morning. I think you would like it.
I do not love yogurt, but tolerate a certain amount of it if I am craving it. If I have a cup a day, I go about 4 days, then I do not want to see it again for a few months. BTW, I cannot do plain yogurt either; it has to have fruit or something else in it.
I am also a yogurt hater. I have learned that I LOVE it in smoothies, though! It adds a nice creaminess to it. I make a protein smoothie: 1 cup milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup ice & 6 oz yogurt(which ever flavor I want my smoothie to be! I love Raspberry the best). If you use skim milk and a lower calorie yogurt you can have A LOT of smoothie for under 300 calories, plus you get a lot of protein!
I don't see the point in trying to make yourself like something. It's one thing to try out the different varieties (personally I like to consistency of Greek yogurt better - it's thicker). But, if after all the trying, I'd just say don't eat what you don't like. Regardless of the health benefits.
I put granola in my yogurt and sometimes i put fruit in it. I have even learned to love vanilla yogurt.

If you don't like yogurt then don't eat it! I've always loved yogurt so I can't relate. You should try other dairy products. Regular milk and chocolate milk are great sources of calcium, protein, etc. Cheese is great for everything! I love dairy in general but keep trying the yogurt.

I will experiment with it like that. I'll try adding some herbs and various things. We'll see if we can find something to cover that basic yogurt flavor a little. Then I can become more accustomed to it.
Funny you compare to sour cream as I find sour cream to be the worst item on the planet. But I know what you are saying. I've had yogurt in sauces and such and it's good that way. At least i have some new ideas on how to use yogurt.
Just think of yogurt as sour cream incorporate it into cooking you will love it . You add some fresh dill to plain Greek yogurt and bam.... great for dipping fish into... or make a taco with ground turkey or strips of chicken or beef add what ever spices you like I use chilis and little salt and pepper and add a smidgen of low fat shredded cheese use lettuce leaf for taco shell add the yogurt for sour cream... maybe this will help you learn to love it.. ?

I don't have to, really. My wife thinks I should eat it. I don't even know the health benefits. I have had a few times and can tolerate it, but never really learned to like it. But what wifey wants, she is very determined. :)

Why do you eat it if you don't like it? You do not have to eat yogurt to be healthy or to lose weight.

I'm not a fan of plain, non-fat yogurt either. I like the vanilla yogurt and ones with fruit in them to eat as snacks. What I do with the plain yogurt is I add some sugar and vanilla to it and make my own flavored yogurt. I can control the amount of sugar, usually only one or two teaspoons to give the sweetness I want. You can use sweetener as well if you like. The main way I use both non-fat plain yogurt and non-fat Greek yogurt is to mix with mayonnaise to make dressings lower in fat and calories or I use it in place of sour cream. Just some suggestions.

HELP! I am having real trouble learning to like yogurt. Some of them are easier to tolerate than others, but it is just that plain basic yogurt taste that just doesn't work for me.
My wife says I should just eat it everyday until I get used to it. I'm not so sure. I am wondering if there are some other techniques that will help.
How do you learn to love yogurt? Have you developed a love for yogurt? Help me!
