Wise approach. Have eaten brown rice & brown basmati rice for years now. Sweet potatoes are healthier for us than plain potatoes... since you buy them singularly, it would be easy for you to add variety that way!

What a good goal! Yes, I eat brown rice. I am insulin resistant though, so I can only eat 1/4. c. at a meal.

I have decided that I will not diet but eat food that is healthy for my health. Fresh or frozen veggies as well as fruit and protein foods; personally I prefer egg whites, chicken breasts and fish (salmon) Have you tried brown rice, a good carbohydrate but not real common in the US. The market I go to were discontinuing wild rice at a good price so I ended up buying several boxes. I am alone so although it costs more I buy potatoes by the #. I dont buy low fat food b/c they usually contain things that we don't want to put into out body, I am older and my body is telling me that I need to move but with care. Now to be able to fit into a size 10P...I was wearing 18P! Liz
