Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time.

A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Put together your own Spark page. This is a great way to communicate with other members and build relationships that will support and motivate you. You can do this by going to the START page and the green section has something about your Sparkpage.

2. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

3. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

I've been a member a little over 3 years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained a lot of the pounds back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going!
Explore the site, make your Sparkpage if you havenít, join teams, and make friends. You will find this site an amazing place full of encouragement, inspiration, advice, and support.

Hi All,
My name is Antionette and I live in Bossier City, LA. I'm a mother of 3 teenagers and a wife to a wonderful MSGT in in the Air force. I have traveled and lived in Europe, and now we are stationed back in the States. I was diagnosed with PCOS ( Poly cystic ovarian syndrome ) 14 years ago. And I have been struggling with losing and gaining weight for the longest time. I'm 5 feet tall and I'm at my highest weight; 233. I would like to reach my target goal of 140 lbs. I started using sparkspeople a few years back, but decided to begin focusing on using this GREAT tool in helping me reach my goal. I'm excited about reaching this goal, and hope we can all inspire each other! Thank You for reading my post!
