Thanks for the welcomes:)

I'm afraid I'm not personally qualified to confuse cats, but I can recommend an extremely good service.

Howdy and welcome to the Spark People mainstream! Spark Points are purely fun, just for the challenge of involvement in the process on site, for which you get a variety of "points". It is all virtual! Yeah, it is a pretty busy site. I pick and choose what interests me, and do a lot of reading. I participate in the Community because I would not still be here if it weren't for the support of my Spark Friends. So, set up your Spark Page, make some Friends, read their posts and bogs and reply to them with support and encouragement. That will help you at least as much as it helps them! Use the trackers! It does help a lot to see what the food and exercise add up to. Hope you enjoy it. Good luck on your journey!

You’ll get where you want to go as long as you are taking more steps in the right direction than the wrong one.

Welcome back! The Spark Coach programs really help getting a grasp on the tools here. But water, food and fitness tracking are also good anchor points. It is a rich, helpful site, and so at times a bit overwhelming. I have lost and am maintaining here tho. I think it is worth the effort.

...well probably not completely different, I've lost weight many times before.

I joined Sparkpeople quite a while ago but didn't really stick to it, I'm hoping participating the community will help my motivation. I'm almost 50 and thus far have not maintained a weight loss for more than 2 years.
My first weight loss plan was Weight Watchers when I was 12 and (not that I have any bragging rights because I'm really quite fat right now) I'm quite the expert at weight loss. It's the maintenance that I really can't wrap my brain around.
I'm not a fan of social media and I've just spent a couple of hours wading through Sparkpeople again. Good grief there is a lot of stimulation on these pages, what's the deal with SparkPoints? It says that I have a total of 481 (from last summer I guess) and I'm a level "3". I have a trophy it's a blue star.

I'm afraid I'm not personally qualified to confuse cats, but I can recommend an extremely good service.
