I have done fondue parties. Some times the host has chicken broth to cook the food in.

There are always lots of vegetables at a fondue party. And it takes so long to cook your food that you get filled up really fast.

When they have desert it is usually fruit. Sometimes squares of pound cake or cheese cake. I would eat some pound cake or cheesecake so that I didn't feel deprived and eat everything when I got home.

Sometimes Marshmallows can be a few calories and filling. They are almost pure sugar though. The desert can be the easiest to overdo since it is just dipped and doesn't have to be cooked.

And take your host/ hostess a nice bouquet of flowers. I have also hosted fondue parties and cutting that stuff into bite sized chunks is quiet time consuming.

P.S. Planning for it in advance is WAY key. Eat light the rest of the day and you'll be able to work it right into your daily calories allowance!

I LOVE fondue. Cheese fondue, of course, has a lot of fat. The good news is that they will hopefully have some veggies to dip, so you could go VERY light on the fondue and veggie heavy. If they have a dessert chocolate fondue, same applies, only with fruit.

I'm a believer in moderation in all things.

Eat something healthy and filling before you go. If you really want to have some fondue while you're there - have a couple of pieces. One day is not going to undo everything you've done to this point but you can't make a habit out of these exceptions.

I'm attending a fondue party tomorrow and worried I'm going to back track on all my hard work... Suggestions on keeping my self in control of what I eat there?
