Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!

Welcome to SparkPeople!! This is a wonderful site with so many resources like articles, trackers, and community SparkTeams to help give you support and keep you motivated. See how many SparkPoints you can get each day and this will help you find and use many of the tools of the site. Make sure you make a SparkPage as this is how you can have people post to you to help inspire you! Please remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. It is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. I am down 73 lbs with SparkPeople and I feel so much lighter and stronger and healthier every day! You can do it! Best of luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!

Hi Kelsey and welcome to Spark. You have two great motivators right there with you. Your boys need to learn the importance of healthy eating and physical activity while they are young. The habits that they learn while young are probably the ones that they will take with them throughout their life times. You can increase your and your boys physical activity and spend quality time together by playing active games together like kickball, basketball, chase, etc.

Make a list of your goals and why they are important to you. List the steps that you are going to take to acheive your goals and review these lists everyday.

Hi everyone!! My name is Kelsey and I am a mother of two wonderful, energetic boys!! This is now my 4th attempt at Spark people! I have tried and succeeded numerous time but have seemed to hit a plateau. I cannot stay on track. I am 5'6 and 237 pounds. I am only 26 years old and am terrified for my health. I want to be here for my children and see them grow. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me or tips on how to stay on track. I appreciate. Thank you all so much.
