Lots of birthdays and church events this month. I feels like the Christmas season all over again! Tommorrow night a birthday dinner at our favorite Japanese sushi/noodle house. Wish they would use brown rice as I am not doing white any longer. I vow to skip the cupcakes I know my friend will bring.

That means eat at the low range of your calories for a few days then splurge and don't worry if you go over for 1 day. Thinking that you have to give up something you love usually sparks binging. The successful weight loss comes from lifestyle changes not from bad choices. Just keep the weekly calorie total in the negative and you will lose weight. And always track what you eat to help you learn how to survive the parties.
Thanks for all the responses. I actually was able to resist the temptation and had just a baked chicken drumstick. My bottle of water, which goes everywhere with me was very handy. I have to say that it was not easy resisting all the food. I have a question though, how do you save up calories? Do you mean eat little and make up the daily calorie intake at the party?
Eat healthy before you go. Alternate a glass of water with every treat or drink you indulge in.
Also, I allow myself to eat whatever I want, as long as I log it. Sometimes, the thought of writing things down and being accountable for them is enough to stop me in my tracks.
Above all, focus on your friends, meeting new people and participating in conversation. If you are chatting, it is hard to also be eating! :)

contribute something low fat that you can munch on like vegetables and fruit. Then have a glass of water between drinks. That helps party on also planning helps
I am posting this from a bridal shower. There is so much temptation all around!!!! Fried and baked chicken, rice, bread rolls, and so much more!!!! I purposely had my lunch before coming so that I could resist the temptations that I knew was coming but I seem to be failing. I am going to hold strong and pick some healthy stuff but, am I really, really tempted?!!!! How do you handle situations like this?
