Well, lots of things change us. Maybe one day, you felt better after eating something (who knows what) and it changed your relatinship with food. To fix it, all you have to do is CHANGE it back. It won't be easy. The other, it was all in your subconcious. Now, you have to make a concious decision to make healthier and better choices. THAT is how you change back. It won't be easy. You will have to do it every day. It takes MONTHS for it to become a habit again. YOu have to set goals and even a reward system up. The biggest thing is that it has to be a change FOR LIFE. It can't be temporary, or the weight loss will be temporary! Good luck. Use SP. It is a great website to make it stick.
I respond to these type of posts all the time. I am not going to be nice and sweet and pat you on the head and say that it will all work out.
A healthy journey is the best thing that you can do for yourself. Technically i am doing it for myself, but I doing it more because of someone or several someones. Who they are really isn't important. Just know that they mean more to me than anyone else in THIS world.
WHAT do you want and more importantly WHY do you want it? Answer those questions and your motivation is found.
Sure to be fair, I lose sight of my goals every so often, but then I think of these someones and I do the five extra squats and choose the carrots over the icecream. i choose to take an extra five minutes and walk then sit on my butt in front of the tv or computer.
Honey, you are not going to get there staring, wishing, drooling, hoping. It does not come easy. You get it by getting off your butt, working for it every second of every day for the rest of your life.

You can start making healthy choices- each new choice presents an opportunity to make a healthier one- park further away, take a smaller portion of food, pace or do strength exercises during commercials on tv, etc. Start with small changes- set up some spark streaks for yourself. I think many of us have broken promises to ourselves- but once you set up a streak, it feels great to look at it and say, 'wow, i have stuck with my goal and i worked out for ten min/day for the last 4 days' and it can really motivate you to keep going.
You can also try joining some spark teams if that motivates you- you have to figure out what works for you. Sometimes I have contests with my hubby, others I focus on weekly mileage or increasing my speed running, I try to balance the nutrients in my meals, etc.
Stick with the program- start with a small streak. You can totally change your food relationship and start living a healthier life... now :)

I was always tiny and curvy but never had to worry about my weight. I had good habits from being raised by health-conscious parents (didn't eat past being content, always sat down at the table to eat). I can recall a friend asking me how I stayed slim and my brother saying "she just doesn't care that much about food" and that's how I felt.
Well that was 4 years ago and 20 fewer lbs ago. Since then my life has changed a lot, some of those changes were really good but one of them was a new and unhealthy relationship to food. I feel like I'm either thinking about eating or thinking about not eating. Every time I can't button my pants or step on the scale I vow to change but it never seems to happen. I feel like I've made so many promises to myself - what's different about this time? I'll just keep gaining weight, I'm sure.
