Id ask them what they'd like. Makes for quick grab when you have a target item. If they're not sure, perhaps they could shop with you and pick out their own. Many groceries sell item pre-seasoned. Grab one of those.
That's a great idea...it's like my husband liked Well done and I like mine "running"... I used to cook a roast or steak and put my steak on just as I turned his over for the last time... With roasts, I'd take it out, let it rest, cut off the two ends for him and put them under the broiler while I got everyone else their meal...by then his would be done (he's day "Maybe"). But it worked easier than a divorce!! And, I could sit down and eat with the family.

I make "bobs no shish" using chicken and beef. Each meat marinates in separate bowl. Each meat is broiled separately then kept warm while I broil cut up green peppers, onions, mushrooms. Sometimes I marinate the veggies first. I then serve it with oat groats, or rice. This meal works well and doesn't seem like you are making two separate meals.
The journey is as important as the goal.

Make your meal plans, then ask your family to choose a protein for each. Make them responsible for what they eat--they'll feel like they have more control and you won't have to think about it.
I know exactly what you mean--I'm pescatarian ( ) and my husband and kids are not.
I am kind of in the same situation as you. My husband is not a big fan of chicken; he likes his beef. I find myself often cooking 2 different meals because I eat chicken just about every day. Sometimes, I will cook a roast and portion out the extras in individual containers and freeze it. Then I can just pull one out for him as I need to.

For health reasons, I never include ground meats in my meals. Others in my household do and I will eat some, but not with great appetite. I would let the butcher grind a piece of meat that I picked out and make hamburgers. You could make a bocca burger or chicken if you prefer. Chuck roast cut up and cooked in slow cooker to make beef tips is good and does not require much handling. Good luck!!
What are some of their favorites for red meat? You can use ground turkey or chicken for burgers, sloppy joes, tacos, etc. Try a nice pork loin or pork chops. If all else fails, and they just want steak, buy small pack of chicken breasts for you and individually portion them. Then freeze. You can get steak for your family, then pull a chicken breast out for yourself to throw on the grill or whatever. I also really like turkey bratwurst/Italian sausage.

I don't like red meat, and yet my family does...I love chicken, shrimp, foods like that. I know my family gets tired of chicken, but when I go shopping and look at meats, that stuff just turns me off!! Any good suggestions or ideas? Or how do I get past it? thanks sheri
