That's awesome. My goal is to run a 5k this fall. I first started my weight at almost 270. Last summer I walked 3.3 miles everyday to build up my stamina now Im down to 232, and feel im almost ready to start walking/jogging. I also found the 5k program thing on this site, and will start it monday.
Its nice to see someone accomplish their goals. :)

I ran my 1st 5K race last weekend! I think that the reality of it is still sinking in.The fact that I entered a 5K and ran MOST of it...me? Really?? I never, ever would have imagined that 1 year ago when I was at my highest weight of 250lbs. It was amazing and I did better than I expected...time was 37:16. Best time prior to the race was 43 minutes. I teared up towards the finish line, as my hubby and son were waiting there and cheering. Words cannot describe that feeling...=). My hubby even said that he teared up when he saw me round the corner towards the finish line! How sweet is that?
So, I post this to express my thoughts, cause I felt like I needed to get them down on paper. But also, to help inspire anyone else that may training for a 5K. I started with the Couch 2 5K which was a great app to help get started running. I had never tried running before. So if this is a goal for you, just get started...Keep going, do what you can do, don't compare your pace, time to anyone else. Just be in awe of yourself that you are out there doing this. It is one amazing accomplishment and it will feel that way!!
