I'm a newbie here and am crazy excited. I put on about 20 lbs over the last 6 mths-year and have been really depressed about it. In the last couple months I've tried prepackaged frozen dinners, low-carb, juice fasting, extreme exercise (6 mile walks) and extreme calorie restriction. On all those diets, I gave up in 2-3 days and then went on an ice cream binge. I've been following the sparkpeople meal plans and they are fabulous. No more frozen dinners! I'm eating a nutritionally balanced diet, real food (and what seems like a lot of it), and drinking my 8 glasses of water a day. I even have a glass of red wine before bedtime.Today is my 4th day of the program and I have lost (according to my scale) 3 lbs!

I know that is probably a lot of water, as I was bloated from eating large portion sizes, sugar, and drinking too much alcohol pre-diet, but I am thrilled! Not only have I made it through the first few days, I have tons of energy and I really feel that this is a plan I can do for the rest of my life.

Yay for good nutrition and feeling good again!
