I have in the past succeeded in just that goal. I lost quite a bit of weight about 8 years ago and went off ALL of my meds with my doctor's permission - I had been on insulin, 2 oral diabetes meds, BP, Cholesterol, asthma, and even a C-Pap machine for sleep apnea. I was off ALL of the meds for about 2 years before I needed to start back on some of the meds but even gaining back most of my weight, I have never been on as much medicine as I was before I changed my habits.
The point is YOU too can do it.
