Hi! Karen

Yes, at least I had enough sense to cut up the torte into slices and freeze it. This way will save the remainder of the torte for our Saturday monthly coffee, which is this saturday. My sweet-tooth craving satisfied and the left-over torte will be out of my house tommorrow morning!

Okanog:
You obviously have balance! You have done so well and continue to do well. Foods are to enjoy. There is such a variety on this earth. What I am learning through this whole effort this time is that willpower includes being able to eat foods that are good FOR you and being able to eat things that are good TO you. It is achieving balance depending on the weight goals. The "good" definitely should outweigh the "bad". I'm glad you enjoyed the Torte!

KALMOORE - That was GreaT!

I did poorly today - ate two slices of Maple Blonde Torte.....put me back to nothing gained and nothing lost as today is my weekly weigh-in day. Good thing I weighed in this morning! Will have do more exercise and watched those calories for the next 7 days.

Didn't feel too good after my second slice, I know better than to do that but it was sooo goood!

Went to Chicago for a 2-day meeting for work. Stayed within making health choices. Yeah!

1. Ate lowfat choices for entree's
2. Ate fruits & veggies, skim milk cereal
3. No snacks! (a real problem area)

KALMOORE - Thanks lots!

It really takes time, lots of time but the time is worth it. You, I, everyone is worth putting the time in for ourselves.

I don't want to loose weight extremely fast and have excess flabby skin. Loosing more slowly and keeping up with exercise helps combat that problem.

1. Ate a low-fat breakfast
2. Ate a low-fat lunch
3. Ate a low-fat dinner

No snacks today. Can't seem to get the water in! Oh well, that's another small goal.

P.S. Wow Okanog, you rock! Can't wait to get where you are emoticon

P.S.S. Aunt Bee, glad you are on the mend.

My bum leg is on the mend with the help of A-5-35!
It is a beautiful winter day up here in the Okanagan today. I had a bowl of soup and 1/2 a pita pocket filled with lettuce and topped with some canned salmon for lunch. A small can of fish last me about 3 lunches.

Taking me & my little dog for a walk this afternoon along side a creek, as soon as I get off the net.

Hello, KALMOORE ~ Thanks for the compliments!

Before I quit smoking, I didn't realize how good food tastes! I will be happy to reach 140 lbs. That is my goal this year. Though to be truthful an additional 20 lbs would put me, where I should be according to my frame and height, at a 120 lbs and that would put me at being overweight. Have they not changed the body weights since the era of the 60's? When everyone was striving to be a Twiggy..............

Anybody interested in using this thread to list 3 things-a-day that fell within your plan toward weight loss. For example, if you avoided getting seconds/2 servings, ate more fruit, etc. This would be a daily post of threes that are built into your new lifestyle plan. I'll start it off, if no interest, that's okay. I just want us to share 3 things/a day that went well. Here goes:

1. Ate egg beaters instead of fresh eggs.
2. Chose bacon instead of sausage which I love but, sausage has way more fat.
3. Avoided putting any butter/margarine on pancakes today. Used less syrup.
