So I found this recipe in the latest issue of Fitness magazine and it sounded SO wonderful I had to make it At only 70 calories per tartlet, this desert/snack helps my sweet cravings!!
Makes: 24 tartlets
Prep Time: 20 min
Chill Time: 2 hours
Nutritional Facts (per tart): 70 cal, 2g. protein, 13g carbs, 1g. total fat (0g. sat fat), 0g fiber
1-14oz. can fat free sweetened condensed milk
1/2 -teaspoon finely grated key lime zest
1/2-cup key lime juice (from 10-12 key limes)
24-mini pre-baked phyllo dough shells
2-limes, thinly sliced and cut into quarters (optional)
Frozen fat free whipped desert topping (optional)
1. In a small bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, lime zest and lime juice. Cover and chill about 2 hours or until mixture is slightly thickened.
2. Spoon about 1 Tbsp. chilled filling into each phyllo shell. If desired, top tartlets with whipped desert topping and lime wedges
Tips: use regular limes to save time. The bigger the size means you will only need to juice about 4-6 limes
You can also fill the shells up to 8 hours in advance without them getting soggy. But wait until serving time to add the whipped topping.
