I'm choosing the iPad over the Kindle because I can buy or use products from a lot of sources where with Kindle I HAVE to buy from Amazon and only Amazon.

That is the main reason I'm going with it. I'll be getting the new one, I can't afford it either, but I'm saving up for it.

I have a Kindle Fire and truly enjoy it, however you need to be near an area that has wi-fi connection in order to use the internet. If your looking to take photo then you would want to invest into the Ipad. Happy choosing!

what are you going to use it for?
imo if it's more internet, the ipad is superior. it's got a bigger screen and it's easier to zoom.
if you're looking at it more for watching tv/movies, the fire has superior graphics by far.
and i'm old fashioned, but i like the e-ink of the non tablets for reading. the backlighting hurts my eyes, so i'd get a kindle touch for reading rather than either of those. again, if you like the backlighting, either works but the ipad has the larger screen.

-google first. ask questions later.

Give up everything you love, and everything that tastes good = weight loss! Simple as that!

My daughter loves her kindle fire and no monthly service charge with our wireless network. I think the Ipad is nice, but not for the price. We even got $75 off on the kindle, so it basically was a nice pad for $125.

I like both but chose the Kindle Fire for price as I mainly use it for reading books and e-mail a to play one game a day of Angry Birds. iPad has a lot of nice features the Kindle Fire doesn't but I think is way over priced.

I have a kindle fire and I love it.. Many of the apps that you can get for the Ipad are also available for android (which is the OS that the fire runs on)... Just wish they had a 3G version!

I have no experience with the kindle fire, but the original ipad isn't really all that different from the newer ones. I have an ipad 1 and I find it really easy to use and extremely useful.

Ok so, I have a chance to get either a Kindle fire or an original i-pad. I know the latest i-pad would be ideal, but I can't afford that, so if I were to choose between the two above which should I get?
