I hope you get good news from the doctor. Diet is typically 80% of the equation, so if you can keep up with good choices, portion control, and tracking you will increase your changes of being successful.

If you need to keep weight off the knee consider chair exercises and water aerobic type classes. If you have access to a pool that is a great alternative to land workouts when there are knee or hip type issues.

Hope you are on the mend !!

Maybe try to do some chair workouts while you heal.
Sit in a chair and while you watch a 30 minute tv show, do some arm waving, some leg lifts, some side to side motion. Anything to keep moving for the 30 minutes while you watch tv and when you feel better, you can get up and march in place !!

Once again thank you for the encouragement! On this beautiful sunny day..I hobbled outside and just started stretching and guarding my knee and working my upper body and the uninjured side and it felt good!

Yes, the journey is a life time!

I was in a similar boat a couple years ago, I wrecked my ankle just as I was starting to feel more energetic (messing around with a soccer ball) I understand how frustrating it is to be restricted just as you start to feel healthier. You can get through this, though. Follow your dr's orders, do whatever rehab is ordered. It will be frustrating, but stay focused! You've done too great till now to lose hope.

Thank you for your encouragement..yes, I seen my health care provider and am going to get xrays next week. Your right you can't do alot of exercises. Wrestling with going back to chair exercises after I WORKED SOO HARD TO GET OUT OF IT!! lol

Oh my Dyan, I am so sorry this happened to you. See what the xrays show and then plan your actions steps accordingly. One thought that has gotten through rough times like this is knowing that the journey I am on is one I will be on for a lifetime. I know I do not have to live a PERFECT life to have a healthy lifestyle. When I make more positive steps than I do those that deter me, I know I will stay on track.

Be strong and I hope you get some answers soon.

I feel for you! My advice is to get to a doctor asap. Do not delay in starting whatever treatment is recommended. I know from personal experience that when your knee is injured you cannot to a lot of exercises - but keep doing the arm movements in your chair exercises. You can get your heart rate up with big arm movements. Please do not give up. You will heal and you will move again!

Hello fellow sparkers..Lord Bless You!!

Like most of you I have and continue to work soo hard on losing weight.I'm pleased with the weight I have lost and support here. It has taken me a long time to get moving physically! Very hard journey when I started in January 2012! I started doing in chair exercises to very fast walking/jogging up to a mile a day and also in the bush (off terrain) Then I heard it pop!! My knee has been injured for about a week now..going for xrays next week! Soo frustrated because I have lost the weight and the inches to move! I love moving it feels soo wonderful! Now I'm discouraged because I can't fully exercise again. I feel crippled again! My mind, my spirit is alive and have so much energy that my broken body can't burn or utilize at the present time! Any help or anything..Anybody relate to this?

I remain on track with my eating as this has help change my life! No going back!!
