Yes, Robert Lustig M.D. mentions that 10% of women have PCOS. His lecture "SUGAR: the bitter truth" is very interesting.

Watch the BBC Documentary "Health Food Junkies" as it is on YouTube. Very interesting as well. Extreme people, but lots of good information.

I have watched those vidios as well and it was mind blowing! My husband and I have been juicing and eating RAW/ Vegan for the last 2 months. I am down 10 lbs and counting. I am excited about the way my skin looks, I am excited that I am loosing weight, I am excited that I got blood test results back from the doctor and was flagged for having super "LOW" LDL. And mostly I am excited for you for sharing your journey. I look forward to hearing your status! Toodles!

Day 5 ... Today I've been having hundreds of cravings, everything from a cold cut sandwich on fresh wheat bread, turkey & dressing to salted chips and red cream soda. I almost cried (literally) when thinking of no longer eating the foods that have broken down my body and mind for over 30 years. I am saying good-bye to what's been my comforter since a child, the only one thing I felt could not disappoint me or I had control over - Yet, I did not have control and it has been a major disappointment time and time again (Bad Foods). As I type this thoughts of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, etc.. creep into my mind, but I will push on.

I was feeling defeated for some reason although I haven't cheated and am going strong. I decided to step on the scale although I said I would only weigh in every 2 weeks. I've lost "7" pounds since my start date Sunday. I am so happy. Hard work and dedication is paying off.
I need to work-out, but with me going through detox I'm so tired and as I type this - freeeezing. Once I gain some energy I am going to hit the gym.

Breakfast: 3 bananas
Lunch: 3 apples

I made my second scrumptious 100% RAW meal today "Fettuccine Alfredo" Yummy! Instead of pasta I thinly sliced zucchini squash, added baby tomatoes and made my delicious sauce from ground soaked cashew nuts, lemon, zucchini and water. I added sea salt, cracked pepper and more lemon. I poured this heavenly sauce over my raw vege's and added a dash of ground cayenne pepper. Needless to say family who NEVER eat any vegetarian meals I prepare went back for seconds and thirds. Quite impressive.

This morning I found myself craving sweet cornbread, instead of allowing myself to be taken in by my thoughts I immediately chomped on some canteloupe and pineapple. For lunch I had 2 medium apples and some unsalted and shell-less sunflower seeds and for dinner I will be trying a new recipe. Vegan Pasta Alfredo. I can't wait, I soaked my cashews overnight so they would be all ready for me when I got home. Yummmmy!

My calorie intake is steadily creeping up, I consumed more than yesterday. 2000 here I come. emoticon

I made my first RAW Vegan Tomato Soup this evening. It was pretty delicious.. I consumed 1000 calories today, still not enough but I'm working my way up. I should be at 2000 in no time. I feel full and satisfied. I just need to get my water intake back up, this RAW diet has taken away my desires to eat or drink. I'm never hungry and I guess my smoothies crave my water intake. I'll get better for sure. Day 3 down.

Hello Jibbie,

Thank you for informing of the video, I'll watch it and let you know my thoughts. YES!! I have seen "Fat, Sick..." I cried, LOL! I'm an emotional one, yes I am. I watched it 3x's to date. After watching it I did an 8 day juice fast, tried to make it to 10. LOL! If you enjoyed that documentary you should check out "Forks over Knives" also on Netflix, very interesting as well.

I look forward to looking at the video, I am trying to think of what I was watching - maybe a youtube video of a woman who had PCOS like myself. She went 100% RAW and within a year her PCOS was completely gone, yet doctors tell you it's irreversable. I did watch a video last night on youtube about a woman who was on the road to becoming a type 2 diabetic, she went total RAW and all symptoms gone.

Thanks for your post, look forward to discussing the video.

Have a great day!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0zD1gj0pXk watch this series "THE SKINNY ON OBESITY" on YouTube with Robert Lustig M.D. I have learned so much about Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance and why it has been so hard for me to drop the pounds. It is really interesting.

Have you watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead? It is Joe Cross' story on his Juice Diet when he released 100#. IT is on NetFlix.

Woke up today feeling .... Grrrrreaaaat!!! No headaches, no tiredness, no moodiness. Lord I pray that it will continue throughout the day. This is day 3 of my "Total Life Makeover". I'm 3 days in on a 100% RAW vegan diet - fruits, vegetables and nuts ONLY. I must admit with me being new to this I've had a slow start, meaning not consuming enough calories, but thanks to youtube videos, etc.. I think I'm well on my way. I've also found a community here in my city who meet up and have potlucks and share their stories and give pointers and ideas for beginners like myself. Yeah!

I'm excited. Prepared me a smoothy with 3 bananas and 2 pears. Taking me 3 bananas and grapes for lunch and dinner will have to be something big. Again I'm starting off slow, but I'll get there Lord willing.

I'll keep telling myself "I'm worth it!"
