Click on this link www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_search_
results.asp?strMethod=search
for a list of Knitting teams. Click on the team you are interested in joining and then find the "Join this team" link. Someone in there will help you with team stuff from there.

I would love to b on a team with an interest in knitting. I knit blankets for babies, give them to my doctor and he gives them to little ones who don't have one. Spun the wheel yesterday because the site told me to
....have no idea what that's all about
.

You are probably on a "Class of weekXX" team. Most people will join teams that matches an interest you have, such as knitting or running or politics or religion or...ANYTHING! It could be by location. You do not have to be part of a team to help anyone, however. By browsing the message boards you will find games and nutrition and fitness and motivation and...... topics. Feel free to jump into any of them whenever you want.

You posted in the "Introduce yourself" forum. I saw your post there. When I respond I have the box checked that says "I want an email to be sent to me when anyone replies to this topic" so I get an email everytime you or someone else respods. The Welcome mat is under "add and emoticon" at the top of the box.

How do people even know when I post? And how do I find you if I need advice? Took me over half an hour just to post lunch and there wasn't much to record!! And how do people know I'm new to this ....where is the welcome mat?

Oh, no! You can actually change the meal without re-entering everything. Just click on the food in the list and it will come up. Click on the meal and change it in the drop down menu. As for adding foods, under the search button in little tiny letters, it says "enter food not listed". Click that and enter calories, fat, carbs and whatever else you want to enter. I usually do little more than that. Click "Add this food to my favorites" when adding foods that you eat regularly. Then when you want to add it again, you just have to click the favorites button on your nutrition tracker and go from there. You can check off as many as you want at a time then add them all at once. Make sure the meal is accurate! Click meal to change it, or if for all the same meal, at the bottom is a meal box and it will change them all to whatever meal you want to add it to.

Hope you can make sense of this post. If not, let me know and I will go through it slower. I am at work, so it might take a few minutes for me to get back to you, though.

Here is another issue. When I was with the dietician she showed me how to enter a brand not listed for a food I was entering but I can't remember how to do it. She brought up the Aldi store brand whole wheat bread but as I said I can't remember how she did it. Put my breakfast as a grouping and it went go lunch.!!! So I had to remove and re enter breakfast.... took forever but I did it. I appreciate your support and help more than I can say! Thanks for being a good friend!!

I am trying to help you through this, Cheryl! The message board can be found up above under "Community". Just take your time and explore. There is so much here that you can easily become overwhelmed. You can do it. Deep breath and push on. Just work on one thing at a time, don't get overwhelmed. Today, focus on breathing deep and writing down (or tracking on here, whichever is easier for you) every bite you eat. Also take a short walk or walk in place for 10 minutes.

I have no idea how to use this site and no one to help me!! I am a hands on person so written instructions don't work to well for me. Found message board last nite to do 1st message and now can't find it if I need help again...plus 2 people "yelled" at me for using all caps...not a very nice way,in my opinion to welcome someone new to a group! Thank you for being kind! Have a great day! Wish u could b my coach

Ok...let's get through this. Go to My Trackers, then My Nutrition. At the bottom of the nutrition tracker you will see "Change nutrition goals". Click that. I unclicked all the boxes under meal plan settings because I want to choose my own foods. You choose any, all or none of the boxes on the page, then click "Save your changes".

You can do the same thing with exercises.

I hope this helps. If not, we can walk you through just about anything else on the site. You CAN do this and Sparkpeople can help! emoticon

Sorry for the 'screaming.' You will be happy to know that my son also scolded me for this!! I am very frustrated with the diet restrictions I was given...basically water, chicken, chicken, water...my only good meal is breakfast..I find the site very confusing, but i am not computer literate...so don't know what to do

First off please, stop screaming. By going to your start page, you can change your diet and set it at whatever you want. Once you get comfortable with the site, it is easier to enter things. If you don't like the site, though, you will not stay with it. Good luck!
