I calculate postage once and it totally surprised me. It is going to be like $150! I totally didn't expect it to be that high and I'm glad I thought to look that up.

Thanks for the advice on paying with cash. That wouldn't have occurred to me.

We had a few unexpected expenses, the first was my dress alterations. Originally a friend of mine had promised he would do them for free, when the time came to do it-he vanished and I had to scramble to find someone. The person I found did an amazing job but at a cost of $350

a few things to keep in budget mind is paying for postage-a small expense but one to budget for. (I think we spent in total about $100 on it)
Also dont forget to plan on spending money on yourself-hair, makeup, nails, tanning that ran me about $350+ for all of the above
also special undergarments are not cheap.

One way we discovered we could save some money was to always offer to pay cash. This ended up saving us about a thousand dollars overall. Everything we could pay in cash we did and often saved at least the taxes (which are 15% where I live) Just plan ahead and keep cash in your wallet.

Congrats! Did you have any expenses that surprised you? Like things you didn't think about until you had to pay for them or that cost way more than you thought?

hey guys!

I am a long time sparker and have posted here on and off through my engagment but now I am no longer a bride to be I am a married gal now!

Our wedding was Nov 17th
we had a spectacular day and kick butt honeymoon in Costa Rica
I just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone had any questions for a gal who just went through the circus and are needing advice.

for us, we kept our wedding smaller (70 people) and worked on not a tight budget but budget conscience none the less. And by that I mean I am a naturally frugal person and Hubby and I are both savers so we were able to save up plenty for the wedding so the last minute expenses we were not expecting didn't de-rail our plans.

Anyways if you have any questions I am happy to help if I can!
