I know losing 100 pounds seems daunting, but it is not impossible. Many Spark People members have lost that much and more. If you need inspiration, look no further than member INDYGIRL. Read her blogs. At her highest weight, she weighed over 460+ pounds. Two years later, she's lover over 200 pounds.
While it's great to have the support of a group, you really can do this on your own. If you feel out of sorts and don't know what to do, post a question in one of the forums. The Spark Community is not only helpful, but supportive too.
Where to start ? You start with some simple changes. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. Set some simple goals. Example, if you're not used to eating 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies, set a goal to eat 2-3 servings each day for one week. if you're not used to regular exercise, set a goal to take a 30 minute walk each day for one week. If you're not used to drinking 8 glasses of water, set a goal to drink 2-4 glasses each day for one week. Once you've achieved these goals, then you set new goals.
And that's how good health starts. It starts by eating your veggies, drinking your water and taking a daily walk. There really are members who lost 100+ pounds just by walking and watching what they ate.
Start slowly, take baby steps literally and figuratively.
Don't worry about it. You can do it on your own. You don't need the group setting. You have spark with you. So you're not actually alone. There are lots of friends here for you who will support you along the way. I'm sure you've read about many other people here who were much more overweight than you and managed to get rid of the weight. So don't panic. I'm working to lose the weight too. We can keep each other in check. Cheer up. You will be thin one day. It will happen.
I AM 100 PLUS POUNDS OVERWEIGHT, MY THERAPIST SENT ME TO AN IN PATIENT EATING DISORDER FACILITY. IT WAS WONDERFUL. THINGS MADE SENSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SO MANY YEARS. WELL I GOT SENT HOME BECAUSE I WAS NOT A DANGER TO MYSELF OR OTHERS. GOODNESS IT WAS SO HARD TO GO TO THIS PLACE AND ADMIT I HAD A PROBLEM AND THEN TO BE SENT PACKING. I FEEL SO AWFUL RIGHT NOW ALL I WANT TO DO IS BINGE. HELP ME COME TO MY SENSES IF YOU CAN.
