There is a small study out looking at ways to reduce breast cancer risks that talks about how effective limiting carbs 2 consecutive days per week to less than 50 gms. and following a sensible diet the other 5 (to me this I aim for 1500-1700 cal/day). I am on my 5th week and because it is only 2 days a week it is pretty easy to do. I do find on my 2 days a week, I tend to eat the same thing each time if possible since I have already calculated the carb count. Good luck

I don't go that low but I do watch my carbs carefully because of insulin resistance. Good job on meeting your goal and losing some weight.

It wasn't easy. I didn't realize that most every food has carbs...not to mention the ones that we consume that we know are high in carbs...like rolls, breads, pasta, etc. I was surprised that my favorite yogurt was high in carbs. And my one of my favorite fruits...bananas. Anyways, I read on how just cutting back on carbs for 2 days a week can keep you losing weight for the rest of the week. You are supposed to aim for 50 g a day for two days, but I ended up with 70 yesterday and 60 today. I did lose 3.5 pounds from yesterday to today, which could also be due to the 10 cups of water I drank. We'll see how the rest of the week goes!
