I was so sore EVERYWHERE yesterday, that I had to get a massage, just to ease my pain. It was the best thing I did. My sore muscles (ones I didn't know I had), are feeling much better today. I did workout yesterday - just cardio and burned 140 calories. I was so happy that I rewarded myself with eating 4 cookies = 250 calories! Boy oh boy - I need to get this under control. I need to burn more calories than I consume! How do I stop snacking when I watch TV? Any suggestions? Do you have the same problem?

I am sore this morning!!!! I can hardly lift my glass of water! But, that's not going to stop me - I'm on a mission. Just because I'm 54 doesn't mean I can get in shape! So, my goal is to wear a string bikini by the time I hit 55 - That's 5 months - do you think I can do it??

I hired a Personal Trainer.

I figured that I don't go on Vacation, Gamble or Smoke, so I splurged on a Trainer.

He is Uber Hot and today was my first workout. I can't remember the last time I sweat so much!

But I feel Fantastic and am looking forward to continuing!

Please make note....... yes I am just beginning my journey okay? I was marking my 3 beers a night and thought I was doing SO well...... yes beer is my weakness. Well............... I just realized it had 2 ounces instead of 2 beers. I feel so....... DUH!. It was so sad when I had to go back to the 6th of Jan and edit all my food tracking. Thinking I will have to cut down to 1 beer or 2 on a light day. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Don't deprive yourself of something you really want to eat. Cut out a two inch section of the donut...... cut it up in little pieces and munch on that. That way you get a taste of it and can munch it while everyone else eats theirs. :-)

You are right about the tracking and planning - that way you can enjoy going out. Watch the soda - I opted for club soda instead of cocktails and that adds up!

Tracking and planning. Meeting friends tonight for girls night out at a mexican restaurant. I am eating lighter today, and going to not partake in the margaritas this trip! I will later on, when I have had more success.

First day back to work and made my lunch and printed out my food schedule so I won't fall off the wagon and have a coffee with cream & sugar and wonderful donuts that will be there to tempt me. How do you stay focused and on track?

I just ate the most delicious dinner - steamed spinach with a little butter - drop an egg into it, then added some black forest ham cunks, boiled mini potoatoes then sauteed them with some mushrooms in little butter. So Yummy! So low in calories - So high in Protein! .

Fabulous after my Whole Body Workout and Cardio!

Feeling Fit over 50!!!

If you're lifting weights with your cardio, you're building muscle, which can add weight, initially. Hang in there OR did you have excess sodium over the past few days? Just a couple things to think about.

How is everyone doing? I snacked on nuts last nite as I watched TV which I thought was OK. I almost fell over this morning when I saw how many calories I ate!

I'm going to the movies this weekend and I've decided no M&M's and only a small popcorn with no butter!

I think if we make our decisions first, it's easier to stick with it!

I thought it was going to be hard to go to the Gym today - but I actually looked forward to it. The Fitness Program on Spark - sparked me to do it and I feel Fantastic!

It's easy if you take a few minutes and watch the exercises so you know exactly what to do in the Gym and you won't feel dumb.

I like having it all planned out - that way I follow it and won't eat anything else.

How is everyone doing so far?

I can't believe I actually went to the Gym. I stalled and stalled doing my errands. My plan was to "have to" drive by my Gym on the way home so I couldn't ignore going there.

I went and only did 20 minutes of Cardio, but burned 140 Calories. My legs are sore - but I did it!!! I'm very proud of myself!

Thnk you for all of the great suggestions. Will be making a copy of how I look now and what I want to be at in a year. The menu on the counter and a glass of water are other great suggestions.

It's soooo cold today I'm making excuses in my head not to go out in the cold and go to the Gym, so I've decided to do necessary errands that will take me past the Gym on my way home! I will have no excuse! I'll already be out and in the area - will let you know how I made out!

Remember to mix cardo and weights. If you work out the same time everyday - you will see the same people working out and that might keep you motivated. Or join in on a class.

Print out a photo of how you would like to look - I have a Vision Board in my Bedroom, so when I wake up I see it and when I go to sleep I see it.

When I get up, I drink a full glass of water and look over my menu for the day -- It's a great way to keep on track. Print it out and leave it on the counter in your Kitchen and check items off as you eat them. I was under my calories today - yippie! (Day 1) hahahaha

I am just about 50 and want to be healthier. I have challenged myself to exercise 5 days a week. Walking, and using some of the machines at our local wellness center. Is ther any suggestions to help me keep motivated in keeping my new years goal for 2012? I also want to log onto spark people and keep track of what I am eating to keep me within my calories.

Yes, I have to remind myself not to wait til lunch to eat. I've never been able to eat when I get up in the morning and by lunch I'm famished. Same with the afternoon, wait until 6 to eat and then go to bed at 8. I've been making changes the past two weeks, but the holidays and being off do not help as sleeping schedules change.

Eating every meal and healthy snacks in between keeps me feeling full and less likely to overeat or oversnack at nite. Do you find that too?
