Concentrate on relaxing your shoulder muscles and your hands (don't run with clenches fists).

I find towards the end of my runs I start scrunching up my neck as I try to push through. Try to pay attention to what your body is doing (especially your core) as you run as this could play a large role in back/neck pain.

It could be anything from bad shoes to hitting the road just wrong, bad running form, sleeping on it funkily, coming down with something... if it persists, I'd say go to the doctor. Maybe even a chiropractor... they're good with that sort of thing.

Could be anything. I get neck pain in the back if I've been keeping my shoulders too high while I run. Concentrate on keeping those back and down, and your arms down by your sides not hunched up by your chest.

I've started running in the mornings and I have had problems with knots in my neck for years now but they have not been bothering me lately but while I was running the last two mornings they started to hurt again. The pain comes and goes and has not lasted through out the day. Could I be doing something wrong that would cause it to hurt? Or could it just be the chilly morning stiffening up? Or just coincidence?
