Thanks for your welcome! How do I make my Spark page? I don't know where to go on site to do it also having trouble entering foods not on their list

Hi! Here is the dilemma : my PCP recommended 80grams of fat a day but dietitian wants me to drop to 50 grams/ day... endocrinologist said I need the fats to maintain glucose so I feel like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place! Thanks for welcoming me and for your support

Hi and welcome to Spark People! If your fats aren't enough to sustain your glucose, then eat what you need to sustain it. Everyone here would tell you to do what you have to for your health. I had gastric bypass in April and there is NO way I can eat what SP recommends for my calorie range. I can only eat at most 1000 cals a day.

I've been a member a little over 3 years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained a lot of the pounds back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. The sense of community and the friendships I have made here keep me going!

Calories were ok today (1499) I'm allowed 1500...but fats were over...I'm allowed 50 fat grams /day, at 59 today..now feeling guilty..really struggling on this diet...fats are NOT enough to maintain my glucose
