Hi I am a Nov 52 model. This is my first week on SparkPeople. I really like what I see. I am using this in conjunction with the Atkins Diet. This has better tools for tracking nutrition.
I have recently( Sept 2) joined the ranks of the unemployed so I appreciate the fact that I am saving $40 a month as compared to the Weight Watchers site and online membership. Atkins is also 100% free.
I think it is really important that we have a strong support group. I hope you all feel the same. The older we are the harder it can be to lose the weight and/ or stay active especially if you have been sedentary for a while. I worked in an office for the last 6 years and have gained about 25-30 pounds.
I really enjoy walking and belong to a local walking club. I hope to be more active with them now that I have free time.

1952 is my year, too. I spent the month of August looking around the site - there is so much! Logging my food intake is really helpful for keeping fats, carbs and protein in proper balance. Working on getting exercise an essential part of my day.
congrats on your work to date.
My goal is to lose 5 pounds by Christmas. The first of many goals 5 pounds at a time.

I was born in '52 also - September 19th. My goal is to weight 160lbs by the time I'm 60.
Hi! I was told that losing weight at my age is nearly impossible. Well, already lost some and joined Spark yesterday for ideas and support. 2 adult kids (they are considerate and help out) back home so cooking for 4 again! Yikes, how do I do that and keep on losing?
