It's been two and half years for me, and it is SO true. I still track and measure my food. I feel like I'm still "dieting" but I've kept the 55 pounds off for over a year.

Oh you are SO going to win at this!
Once I *got it* that this really is a lifestyle (vs. a "diet") AND that losing weight is at least 80% what you put in your mouth, the weight started falling off. That was such a HUGE lesson for me. That and portion control...which I am still trying to master!
It's true what they say: you don't lose weight to get healthy; you "behave" healthy and the weight comes off!

I started this mission on May 28, 2012 and looked at it like my "Diet". Going into my 5th week, I can see that this isn't just a diet anymore, it's a way of life for me. If I want to consistently stay healthy and fit, I need to take everything I am learning here at Sparkpeople and keep it with me for the rest of my life. Will I fall...probably...will I climb back up....most definitley. I have too many reasons not too. May 28th, 2012 - start weight 219.8 June 25th, 2012 - weigh in 206.8 inches lost - 6
