Lots of great advice.
I've started to do a 7-day average of weight, since it fluctuates so much from day-to-day.

What you do is:

Record weight daily
Add all seven together and take average.
You can even set it up as a running total in a spreadsheet program, so that you're always able to see your last seven days.

Obviously, if you want it to be 3 days, 14 days, 10 days, or whatever - you can do that, too.

I do calculations for three and seven, just because it's only numbers in a spreadsheet.

Likewise - it's only numbers on a scale - they will change. Don't let it change your resolve, though.

Think about this . . . if it is NOT YOUR DAY, whose is it and what are they doing stealing it from you? Take YOUR day back and don't let the idiosyncracies of the scale ruin an otherwise wonderful day. If you scale said 191 on Monday and 195 today, do you REALLY think you ATE 14,000 MORE calories than you burned in less than a week? Were you REAL:LY pigging out and only eating super high calorie stuff? Did you REALLY burn almost zero calories? If the answers to those questions are NO, then it may be water weight, or simply the normal fluctuations of the body's weight. I have lost and gained 10 pounds or more in a single day - and even at my MOST gluttonous state, I never ate 35,000 more calories in a single day than I burned - slow metabolism or fast.

Relax and vent and then just have faith in the system - that weight will come off and so will a lot more if you don't let yourself believe the lies your body is trying to tell you.

Thank you! It's just so frustrating when you're feeling so good about yourself and then that stupid scale tells you otherwise. I feel like I just NEVER have that energy to push myself and it's getting so hard to keep going when I just don't FEEL different. Thank you for the motivation.

Express your anger! use that anger! I use anger to fuel many of my workouts.
Also of course, it is important to understand that the scale goes up and down. It's just what it does. I had an 8 pound gain in a week once, but then the following week, it went down, and the next down further. Don't let that define your mood.

Go ahead. Scream. Get it out of your system and know that this is a process. scales go up and scales go down. I only weigh in once a month. I don't use the number on the scale to tell me how I feel. I have more energy than i know what to do with. I sleep better. I feel better. hair and nails are growing nicely. My clothes are fitting better. if that stupid number on that stupid contraption choose not to show the hard work i am doing, then so be it. That contraption will not control me. Don't let it control you.

There are millions of reasons why the weight went up. Don't let it make you feel down on yourself. Let your body catch up.

When I weighed myself on Monday I was ecstatic to see that I was 191, but today I was 195 yet again. I have been working my butt off and eating well for weeks. I just don't understand why I can't lose. It makes me want to scream! emoticon
