I'm not taking those just yet..but soon, and hopefully, we'll both still be on here motivating each other...so I would love to have any advice on math or science!! I had my first exam in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology yesterday. it was a lot harder than I thought it would be..not because of the material, but because of how the professor worded everything..it was just weird, and hard to decipher. Thank you so much for the offer though!! I will take you up on it when the time comes!!!

Ola:

If you need any tips for any of your science or math classes, send me an email. In my work, I figured out some easy tricks for doing solution chemistry calculations that they don't teach you in school. Also, let me know which calculus book you are using because I have a solutions manual for one of the major calculus text books in use in case you need one.

Actually, it wasn't a play, it was a film festival, and it went great! I just "played" a role in one of the movies. But thanks for everyones inquiries!! I really appreciate it!
School is going great! I love my course of study..it's going to be tough, but it is very very interesting!(wildlife conservation and ecology). I have to take a LOT of science classes, chemistries, biologies, calculus...I'm a little nervous, but I thing I can handle it! what I'm taking right now is very interesting and fun! I have my first test next week....we only have 3...so loads of studying....keep your fingers crossed for me next wed. night...at like 6pm!

Hey Ola, How's the play coming along? Are you still finding it okay to juggle school/play etc.? Sounds like a very demanding schedule but I think that we all function at a higher level when we are the busiest. What's new?

Hello all!!
Thank you so much for inquiring about me!! That just makes me feel soooooo loved!! I love this site, it always boosts my ego! HE HE HE!!
As far as what I've been up to...work work work...school work work work school...film festival. film festival. you get the drift! I totally love my class that I'm taking!!! I belive I've finally found what I want to do!!! I would love to be a conservationalist, or a forester, or basically anything in that sort of a feild. It is so interesting, and the world needs people protecting it now more than ever!! I'm just learning so much! I really want to figure out a way to be able to attend school full time again! That is my dream/goal!! I just need to find either a night job, or a job with MEGA flexibility!! I just learned that there are classes for my major available in New Zeland and Anctarctica!!! I would love to be able to attend them, but like I said, work just wouldn't go for that!! I'm not sure If I ever mentioned it, but I would someday want to move to New Zeland....and the fact that there are classes available there just blows me away!!
Another thing that has been consuming a lot of time is the first annual Wilmington Film Festival. I'm not sure if you remember, but my boyfriend is an aspiring film maker. He started a group called the Wilmington Filmmakers Society. It's a lot of fun, I help out a lot on his sets...catering, and mostly just doing grip work. I enjoy it a lot. well, this week, infact last night, was the kick off to the film festival. John Waters was here speaking for the opening, and there were all sorts of parties and stuff. We have been spending hours preparing for it. There is only one short film that the group has entered and it is playing tonight!! I have a bit part in it. The film is called Interview with the Holy Ghost. and it's basically just that. an interviw with the holy ghost. ONe of our friends is an atheist, and he's very hung up on religion...he calls it satire, but we all know he will someday make an amazing christian...he knows more thank 95% of the christaians I know....he's just hurt by life, so he doesn't belive that a God could make his life so awful...so, this guy writes all sorts of stories, books, and screenplays with a lot of christian influence. Interview with the holy ghost is the holy ghosts point of view on the world...christianity and the bible. I actually really like what he did with it. The holy ghost is played by my boyfriend, and I am his roomate ......Mary...and I'm preg-o!!! The holy ghost talkes about his life along god, and what "really" happened in the bible. It's quite cute. anywho, it's just a short film that was completed last year. The movie we're working on now, is a feature.....it's seems to me like something you'd see on lifetime. So, as you can see, I've been keeping pretty busy. I'm excited for tonight....The holy ghost premeirs tonight!!! wish us luck!!

I'm just impressed you're even thinking about Streaking when so much else is going on. Once your structure has been set at school, I bet it will be much easier to bulid around it. I mean, school is your full time job right now! Good for you for sticking with it, and as soon as you feel ready, you'll dive right back in to your Streak--I know it! And we'll be here to cheer you on--you can count on that!

Keep trying, youll figure out a way. It seems there is never enough time in the day. Cyp's got a good point and plus it may do you some good stress wise to make a little time for exercise or whatever else makes you feel great. Good luck!

With the new schedule, you might need to change your Streak up so that it takes less of your time. For me, school always took priority over everything - I only ran because I absolutely loved it but I scheduled my classes so that I was always free to run at 9:00 a.m. During my school years, I scheduled myself to weight train in a bazillion different ways but always failed to actually do it because even if I wasn't studying, I was sitting around thinking about getting down to studying ("Can't go, have to study - - - as soon as I'm done procrastinating.") Keep in mind that if you exercise and eat well, you will feel well and thus your studying will likely be more time efficient and effective.

so, the streak is over again. I need to give myself some time to settle into my new school/work/streak schedule before I start a new one. I just can't commit at this moment! I've been trying every excuse in the book, but I just can't. Something keeps coming up, and most of the time, it's not just being lazy, I just can't seem to find time! so, again, I'm starting over next week!!!

I think that's a great idea--listening to your hunger, you know? I'm a stress-eater myself, so I know there are plenty of times I keep on stuffin' my face even after I'm comfortable. But I'll tell you, paying attention to sleep, exercize and breathing (which I have been doing so much more of since I found you guys) has really made a difference in my stress--hence, I'm able to do what you suggested--actually stop eating when I'm full...most of the time! Let me (us) know what happens.

Well thanks everyone!! It means a lot to have you encouraging me!

Day 3.
I went to that killer class last night, and guess what?!? It didn't kill me!! Infact, I kept up 98% of the time!! I love being able to punch and kick something! It's an amazing stress reliever! It's so awesome to see a room full of women just punching and kicking and feeling great about themselves!! I love it! It's so Kick A**!!! I kept looking thur the room, and every one seemed to be totally enjoying themselves! A bunch of women kicking butt! It's great! And to make it all super duper, none of them are butch(not that there is anything wrong with that..), or bodybuilders.... it was all normal women! Way to go WOMEN!! yey!! I'm excited! I think I'm going to another class tonight! YEY!

Don't you LOVE kickboxing?! It is fun and helps you get out all of your anger in one class!! I am going to a class at 6 am tomorrow, so I will be rearing to go! Congrats on your achievements, Ola. It is a whole lot better when you are having fun through it. I know what you mean about smiling through class. My instructor actually stopped me after class to find out what I was smiling about. She thought she had a rip in her sweats or something. I told her I was just enjoying myself. Then she said the class must not be hard enough!!! Rock on, Ola!

Day 2!!

Last night I went to a NEW kickboxing class. It's in an actual Karate studio, instead of just a gym. The instructor was an amazing woman that has the highest degree belts in Karate, Kickboxing, and a few other martial arts. I'm not so sure what they are.
I absolutley loved the class! It was fun, it was challenging, and most of all, I smiled the whole way thru it! I am going to be joining the Karate studio, and who knows....maybe actually losing the rest of my stupid weight!!! yey!! Last night's class was low impact. Tonight, I'm going to the High impact..all cardio class. I think it's totally going to kick my butt!! I can't wait!! I think everyone should look up a Karate studio and at least try out ONE class! It was such a good time! Way to go Kickboxing!!! wahoo!!

Seven pounds is great. I agree that the idea of the Streak can work even if the planned Streak is never actually completed (Chris Downie must be way out there on the right side of the bell curve). As long as we keep starting over, health will benefit. Also, to me it's the working toward the goal that's the fun part.

Congrats on starting a new streak! I think you are doing a great job already...

I wanted to write and tell you about my streak success...Almost 2 years ago I decided to start a streak - NO SODA. It was my first step to starting a SparkPeople Program.

I was drinking a 2-liter a day, so giving it up was really important to my health. I didn't think it would work...but look at me today...I don't even remember what it tastes like and I definitely DO NOT miss it!

I guess I just wanted to remind you that streaks work...so stay strong and consistent...Keep us posted!

I'll be thinking of you!
