I have to say that before the big 50 losing weight and staying fit seemed to come easier than after that magic number. The weight does not come off as quickly as it goes on and I seem to be finding bending and stretching comes with aches and pains that I never had before. The trick is to keep plugging away. Until now I have tried all kinds of diets and exercise that sounded like the ONE that would change my life and bring back what I had. Well I am 56 (slow learner) and it doesn't happen like that so jumping from one crazy thing to another really does not work and only frustrates you. Take a deep breath, eat right, work out to the best of you ability, and stop beating yourself up.
