I'm a newbie too, and at first, it seemed very confusing. But the more I explore, the more I am getting it. Log your nutrition and fitness, then the rest of the time, earn spark points! I just go to the "view spark points" list and select activities to earn points. That makes you touch just about every aspect of this site and makes things click a little better.
Just hang in there OK? You can do this!! Heck, we ALL can do this!!
First learn to use your nutrition and fitness trackers. Then start each with your spark points. As you decide what points to go after, you will learn more about the whole site. At least, that has worked for me. Good exploring. Have fun.

Thanks for all the links 60SIXTY. I'm new and understand how overwhelming it is. I have learned that a great way to find out is by earning sparkpoints. Your links will help a great deal as well!

My suggestion is to first learn how to chart your nutrition and exercise. After that becomes second nature, then you can slowly proceed to the other areas of the program. Remember the site is strictly for your benefit. Take your time and don't feel pressured. Go your own pace.
The best way to learn the site is to work on earning Spark Points each day. Think of it as your to do list. Pick and choose which areas you want to focus on. Learn how to track your food first, then look into fitness. Join some Spark teams and check out the message boards each day. Good luck.
At first, learn the essential basics like how to track food. Everything else will come in time as you have time to explore. If you press "Help" at the top of the screen, you can find some tutorials. Also check out the "Insider" daily on your StartPage.
Give it some time to learn to use the site. I checked your spark page. As you have time, check into your spark teams. Find at least one that you enjoy to help give you encouragement. I find that a couple of my teams are especially encouraging.
