IMO, motivation really needs to come from YOU. If you are doing this for somebody else, you'll just have a reason to stop if anything happens to that relationship.
look around on the site. The nutrition tracker and fitness tracker are both pretty easy to figure out. There are instructional videos. Take about 20 or 30 minutes and work your way thru it. I got really frustrated when I first joined Spark. When I got active again, I took the time to figure out the basics and it's actually easy.
