I know that some outdoor goods stores sponsor Nordic Walking programs -- I think they have teamed with local health professionals in this effort.
Not race walking, but perhaps similar in that Nordic Walking is a low-impact activity that can be very high energy!
I understand that, with the Nordic walking sticks, you can really get going. (Using the correct stick tips, along with learning the form, is important, apparently.)

Hi everyone, I have wanted for a while now to get into race walking. Considered to be the best "boomer" activity. No damage to knees like running and jogging, and more burn than walking. Is there anyone who teaches it in centreal illinois? Waiting for news. Thanks Syma
