BARBSASPARK Posts: 17 6/14/12 9:22 P If you eat a fruit salad do you have to calculate each fruit and guess the amount? Silly question I know ;)
RIET69 SparkPoints: (47,087) Fitness Minutes: (11,285) Posts: 3,116 6/14/12 3:44 P I know that fruit serving sizes vary. But I want to tell you, When I am eating fruit instead of something else, I am a happy camper. I eat two oranges with my lunch every day. I do 'count" them in my tracker. On the way home I eat an apple so that I don't get there starving and raiding the whatever. I must stress, I do put it all in my nutrition tracker.
SP_COACH_DENISE Posts: 42,022 6/14/12 11:46 A It depends on the size of that fruit. If you have a small apple, then I would count that as 1 serving, but if it is one of the large sized apples, that would likely be 2 servings. Just use your best judgement when looking at the size of the fruit. Coach Denise
CHRISTINA7811 Posts: 40 6/14/12 11:42 A Thanks for the information! I am also wondering what whole piece of fruit counts as. Does an apple, banana, pear, etc count as a full serving of fruit or more than one serving?
SP_COACH_DENISE Posts: 42,022 6/14/12 11:38 A This page has some info about that (and other serving size info): www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?id=177 . Coach Denise
CHRISTINA7811 Posts: 40 6/14/12 11:25 A Hi everyone! So this may be a silly question but I seem to be getting conflicting answers when I googled it so I figured I would ask here. What exactly does one serving of fruit consist of? Thanks for the help! -Christina
