Congratulations Lavenderblue!! What an example you are for me. You stuck to your program for 6 months and are now reaping the rewards of your success. For me this is day 4. I will look to you for inspiration.

I have always looked younger than my age, since my 20's. But the last couple of year life has caught up with me. I entend to make positive changes.

I may not look a whole lot younger, but if I can get a round and go dancing. Enjoy life to it fullest. I will be happy.

Hello Everybody:
I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey towards getting fit. Just think nearly 6mos. ago, my weight was 204lbs. Presently, it is 178. Although I haven't reached my target weight, I am so happy. Somewhere I read that after after a 20% weight loss a few week's break should be taken, I have done that. So, I have set a goal to loose 1lb this week. The heaviness that has left my chest feels so much better than that "quick fix overeating sweet tooth".

It put me on a "natural high" when a woman at least 10yrs. younger than myself wanted to know what I am doing to look so well. She assured me that her comments came from her heart.

Presently, I am struggling with not tracking my meals, and wanting to eat bread. But, I am persuaded this too, will be defeated.

Hope all is going well today.

Home made bread and cookies, cookies, cookies.

That was certainly a very thought provoking paragraph. I never looked at food like that, but it is so true.

I found this paragraph in a new book I am reading that is full of great advice on losing weight.....this particular paragraph really grabbed me and I wanted to share it!

"When a food is a part of life, it enhances life, but when it becomes the centerpiece of a human life --when it comes before your appearance and your control over your own body and subjects you to continuing failure at something that is so precious to your happiness and health, when it comes before your wardrobe, self-image, and promises that you make to yourself -- then that food does not enhance your life, but diminishes it! Eating such a food does not free you; it imprisons you -- and sentences you to a lifelong struggle with your weight and with failure".

He is referring to our "trigger" foods.....the ones that we cannot eat "just"one, or stop at a bite or two.......the foods that we absolutely cannot resist no matter what we tell ourselves....the sugary snacks, the potato chips, whatever it is in your life that "has" a strong hold on you.........
