Never smoked and it never really bothered me, but my wife smokes, she's 60 and I'm worried about her quitting now after more than 40 years of smoking so heavily.

To all you former smokers: emoticon
I smoked from12-29 & onsidered it my only vice and had no intention of stopping. Then I could no longer afford it and quit cold turkey. So, now I've been smoke free and a lot healthier for a long time. Haven't relapsed or smoked even 1 since.
In Chicago everyone except my Gram and MIL smoked. When I moved, at a party of 22 people aged 28-34 no one smoked.

for people who have tried it all and still cant quit, e-cigs are a god send.

they arent perfect, however, you still have the addiction to contend with, but much less harmful than a traditional cig.

I don't smoke cigarettes anymore, I put away the traditional nicotine stick for a new age eCig. It's recommend by doctors to people that want to continue to smoke, and because its not tobacco, is a liquid vapor, that also has the nicotine extract in it, you can smoke in doors, and people around you don't smell it, don't get sick from it, and doesn't cause cancer.

If you want to learn more about it, just type in eCig in google, and read all about it. If you'd like to buy, I suggest volcanoecigs, that is a great place.

It's 10days now for me. I am not craving and the best part is I don't stink anymore! I want to take my kids more places with me before I would tell them that they could not go because I wanted to smoke. I didn't smoke in the house or car around the kids and now they have noticed and they are happy only ten days but I know my lungs are getting better and now I have more energy!

WAY TO GO FOR ANY AND EVERYONE TRYING TO KICK THE HABIT emoticon

I tried smoking when I was really young and I nearly threw up! There's a learning curve to smoking too! If your body rejects, it's there must be a reason! I stopped right there and then and made up my mind NEVER To smoke! Problem is, most smokers keep trying till they get the art perfected. That's when they get hooked and the problem starts!

good for you. It is probably the greatest thing you could do to improve your health. I quit 8 years a go after bypass surgery and I can breathe again. Not saying its the only thing to do but it is a great 1st step.

I am 4 weeks smoke free! I know that it can be tough at times but it is so worth it in the end. My dr. put me on Bupropion SR 150 to make the "need" to smoke disappear...and it works! I don't even miss it!

Congrats for making such a big life change emoticon

I smoked for over 20 years, I have been smoke free for 7 years! Here is how I did it - herbal cigarettes! They smell really BAD, they taste like****, and there is NO nicotine in them. The more I wanted a cigarette the more I smoked them. Yes I cried A LOT! I had mood swings really bad but I just kept on smoking the herbal cigarettes and after about a month I had run out and couldn't get any until the next day because of the weather. The next day I thought NO I don't need them there's no nicotine in them any way! The ones I used were Honey Rose, but I am sure there are many. Even trying to quit makes you AWESOME!!!!

When I quit I drank ice water with a straw. It mimics the same action as taking a drag from a cigarette and is refreshing.

You got to want to give up and try self talk such as I don't need them. It's all in your head. ask yourself why I smoking. I have done on Champix. Let your know that you are giving up smoking and ask for there help. Try to keep busy.
